DFW BS Thread : ********NEW MEET!! CHECK POST #1*******

Finally got around to posting my latest astro-landscape photo over on my Facebook Page, been sitting on this one for a month or so, figured it was time to see how the dreaded Facebook algorithms would treat it on a Sunday morning. Likes/shares/follows appreciated, plus you get the added bonus of getting tempted by amazing landscapes from time to time.

 

So I took a transfer and in my new assignment I'm off on weekends, although I work every third weekend.

Looking forward to making more meets! I totally forgot about the meet yesterday.

 

Hey guys! Just wanted to follow up on the awesome meet that we had yesterday at our new shop. From our perspective, it was a huge success and a way for us to reach out to a new community. Took a break from bbq, and we did some asian food. I completely fucked up wrapping the dumplings so I didn’t take pics of mine, half of them exploded. Go figure...exploding wheels and exploding dumplings!

Thanks for hosting. This was my first meet and it was great getting together with other Tacoma enthusiast. I had a good time and enjoyed seeing all the awesome trucks. I seriously regret not snapping any pics, next time though. It was also nice meeting all the folks at Cali Raised LED and seeing their shop. I enjoyed seeing all the equipment and watching the laser cutting machine in action. Thanks for the patch and stickers and welcome to Texas. I believe in supporting a local businesses, so I'll definitely be back for the 32" light bar combo and some of those ditch lights too.

I missed the meet. The lake was more important.


I'm planning on going out to Northwest OHV this Sunday, the 1st. Is anyone else going to be out there this weekend?

I'll be bringing my son and his friend.

Is there any thing I should know before I go? I haven't been to that park before. Used to off road a lot in southern California, Southern Nevada and Colorado.

You will need an OHV sticker. They are sold in a few places around the DFW area. I dont remember off hand if they sell them at the park though.

The park is kinda small, its a good park to stretch your legs. There are some difficult obstacles there for sure but there are some more mild trails around.

 

I knew about the sticker. They say they have some at the park. Otherwise, I saw that 4 Wheel Parts has them. I believe that Sunday is day one for the annual sticker renewal.

I'm looking to stretch my legs at first. I'm getting back into the off-road and getting to know my new truck better. I don't want to get too crazy right away.

 

One thing to add. The OHV sticker is regulated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife department, and has the same expiration date as all hunting and fishing licenses. So it will expire at the end of Aug. I'm waiting to get mine until Sept 1st.

We tried that place out last night. Food was great, good beer selection, indoor/outdoor seating.

Potential for a meet.

This TRD Avalon maybe the DD i have been waiting for. However the Touring edition features look pretty sweet too!
