unless you’re a 6MT guy, then it would be IMO. Totally different story with 2x overdrive gears in the auto..

Me too, the first thing I did when I got home from the dealership was take selfie with the truck and read the manual.

Accessory Outfitters in Aloha. I’ve had them do a ton of work and they are a great shop. I just ordered my 5:29 with air lockers. Ask for Austin Rose and tell him Dalton sent you. I have zero affiliation with this shop but have 100% confidence in their skill set. Also Landcruisers NW in NW Portland used to do gearing.

Right on. I’m very curious how the truck behaves towing on flat to slight uphill around 55 mph if it’s got any pull in 5th around 2000rpm or having to downshift to 4th up to 2900rpm. My trailer is around 3400~3800lbs

If I do 5th it doesn’t shift for me. I don’t hit 4th till I do the mountains. I’ve got one trip on the gears with the trailer tho and I took it easy.

3000’ish. I’d have to go look again. I’m on 285/75/16 33s with armor, half bumper and winch

Awesome info, and nice looking Jayflight I was looking at that trailer for a while actually. This is very comforting as I was worried about cruising down the highway for a long time in 4th at 2900 and wasn't sure after the re gear it would have the power to pull steady at 2k down the flat highway without wanting to hunt down or heat up the tranny. My rpod is actually 3k dry so prolly close to 3600 loaded depending on what we bring along. My completely stock truck cant hold it at 5th down the highway at 55 now I just use 4th at about 2500rpm and it's solid. Thanks for the info I think 5.29 will be the way to go for me once I lift and go with the 33's

My gears have shipped from ECGS Friday. I’m going with 5.29’s I have 285/75/16’s on my non lifted TRD Pro

I drove it 400+ miles yesterday and I got 16.3 miles an hour on cruise control while I painfully watched my truck hunt for gears all day. I videoed the drive and the 3 hours of off roading. I plan on making the same trip after I swap out the Diffs, to post a before and after
