I just neeed to decide on a tire, hoping for something not to heavy. Did not want to loose any fuel mileage.

Maybe the Falken Wildpeaks, they're a less aggressive AT and can be had in a SL/P rating. Any AT you're going to lose something, it may be negligble though, which I think the Falken's are. I know my Trail Grapplers on my 11 were the worst, averaged 13-15 mpg. I ran KO2s C rated on my Cement 19 and lost about 1-2 mpg, the E rated I lost 2-3 and it drove like sh*t being a 10 ply and way overkill for our trucks. The C rated RG's on my 19 Sport I lost about 2-3 mpg, but they were 285's and the truck was lifted. I'm hoping the SL rated ones I picked up do a bit better, I really like the look.

My truck rarely hits the highway, mostly a burrito fetcher. I have the SL Wildpeaks and the mileage did drop, but thats only based on the dash calculations, and the tire is larger so that plays into the drop, too. Hard to say because I did hit one stretch of 45MPH interior road and the dash was showing 22MPG. I can tell you that at 300miles on the tank I need gas real soon. According to the tire comparison here there are -3.4% fewer rotations than stock. Then there's the weight. Stock Toyo was 36 and Sport wheel was 26, Wildpeaks are 44 and SCS wheels are 22, so gained 4 pounds per corner.

I am actually looking at the Hankook's and the Toyo tires, I was hoping to stay under 40lbs on the tire weight. Do not do any heavy off roading just mainly a mall crawler as some people call it. I am just an old Air Force Chief you eases around in his Tacoma, but I do like it to look different than others in my town.

...and according to the Google adding 4 pounds of unsprung weight per corner is the same as adding roughly 48 pounds of sprung weight to the truck (increase per corner x 4 corners x 3 (the ratio)). Explains why the E-load crew exhibit such poor mileage.

I ran Toyo open country’s on my 15, they were less aggressive and weighed like 43lbs as a 285

I almost went Toyo Open Country AT2's. A little more money but supposed to be a real solid tire. I do like the way these ride over the stocks. More sidewall and even at 37psi its softer feeling.

Yep. Even KBro's in 265/75r16 E load are 54lbs each

By the math, if you put those on stock wheels at 26lbs that's 80 lbs per corner! 216 pounds unsprung equivalent. Thats a CR250 in the truck all day every day (or a fat chick).

Hey Everyone and @SCSPerformance! So I put the bilstein 5100s, 2887 and 3 leaf aal. I am trying to figure out what size wheel (17x8.5?) and tire combo is the best. I can trim wheel well plastic but thats really all I want to do. I dont know what size tire will fit and am kinda overwhelmed with options. Dont wanna kill my mileage either. thanks in advance for your input! wheels are 265/75 now and there is plenty of room.

PS. do yall think matte grey or black would look better?

Look at gold, copper or bronze. Those may seem like obvious choices but I've seen them all on BBP and all of them work. Gold is the brightest and most yellow of the three. While the bronze is the darkest and will add an air of sophistication. The Copper is darker than the gold but lighter than the bronze.

However, doesn't SCS have a blue wheel now?

We don't offer matte silver, but here's our matte gunmetal.

My bad I was thinking matte gray and gunmetal against a black Tacoma. The matte gunmetal looks awesome

If you're after more of "stockish" look, consider matte gray.

This is blue, but you can see how matte gray has a much brighter contrast on a dark color truck.

Bit the bullet and bought them when they came in stock earlier this month. Wrapped them in Falken wildpeak's 265/75/16. Love it even more than I thought I would.
