1.05 base version should still be downloadable. This bug isn't our fault, blame toyota and their massive radar cruise control fiasco, which directly acts on the throttle.

04B30 and 04B31 cal data is 99% the same,

 

YES! I'm not getting anywhere the numbers I see posted here. But I don't drive 1500 miles a week like so many seem to. My commute is 2 miles each way. I managed to get 3/4 of a tank of gas through in the last week. It's getting better all the time. So after a couple more tanks I expect to see even more improvement, based on what I've read.

I've not seen ANY fuel mileage improvement in any single release yet. It's only gotten worse. But I simply don't put the miles on like many others. I'm certain It'll settle in.

 

I don't blame you for the bug at all! I understand very well how badly Toyota's outsourced transmission nerds screwed up the factory programming. I just personally don't want to run a tune with a known throttle-related bug that I don't quite understand -- especially since I use cruise control every day of my life -- so, I reverted to stock until it's properly fixed in a 1.05.2 version or 2.0.

There also aren't any tunes available for dongle 04B30 users -- not even the base files. Several of the files appear to be there for dongleless users, but not for dongle users. The only downloadable file for 04B30 dongle users is the "Stock" tune.

 

@OVTune Hi Matt, I have a 2019 TRD Pro with 04B31 Automatic transmission currently running 1.05 performance tune and am about to try the 2.0 Beta. Question for you on the calibration process. In one of the steps, it states:


"- Perform several (at least 2) full throttle pulls in D or ECT mode, 2nd gear or better, from 1500 RPM to at least 5000 RPM. This will enable KCS and make ignition determination based on knock feedback"

To clarify, should we do these 2 full throttle pulls in sport shift mode by manually shifting to 2nd gear or should we do this in Automatic Transmission mode?

My 2.0 mpg has dropped a little bit as well but to be fair, it could also be my driving since it's a lot more fun now.

I saw my highest highway mpg ever with 2.0 so that's a testament that driving habits plays a big role.

Wouldn't call it until more time passes or the final version is released.

I am just trying to be like you and have my own income from something other than salary or wages.

The income to effort ratio for YouTube is extremely difficult to be successful at since that market is flooded with so many people that would rather vlog than actually work. I applaud your sense of entrepreneurial spirit. Hope it works out.

Not to mention YouTube is constantly changing their content policy and how they pay people.

 

Sounds like the same vibe. I believe I read somewhere on this thread that its the Variable Valve Timing, I could be mistaken. Maybe Mat can chime in.

 

Will there be ANY "performance" tunes in the final release?

ETA I ran my truck over the scales with a full tank the other day, 5400#s so my pig could use all the "performance" the tune can muster since I regularly haul a trailer with it as well...

 

My fuel mileage has dropped from my previous tune. Was running 1.05.1 91 octane and MPG's were good and kept getting better. With 2.0 non GL MPG's are much lower than with 1.05.1 and still haven't improved but...We'll see what happens. 2.0 is working well in regards to Shifting and power. 2.0GL did not.

 

GL should be great with this tune if we can just shift to S to get it and leave etc for D

 

yes there will be, within the same file, and a way to select in and out without flashing.

 

Anxious to see the performance tune!! Keep up the good work. The latest 2.0 is awesome as a lot have said. Almost no lag in the pedal now and shifting is so smooth..
