I said it though. Let's me know I'm doing a quality job of breaking down the muscle group. :)

For sure. Although if you do workout the muscle group properly, DOMS should never be so bad it affects you like that. The only time I get horrible DOMS is when i don't train that body part for a week or 2.

So I started getting serious about working out again 3 months ago. I stepped on the scale and clocked in at 299 and about shit my pants. Wasn't going to break 300 so started slowly and began walking at work, started taking my mountain bike to work and riding during lunch and breaks.

Still got a belly but pant size is down from a 40 to 36/38 and I weighed in at 261 this morning on the scale.

Turned 45 this year so shit is harder to get off than I remember but happy with my progress.

200 is my goal by next May. Really, I just want to be able to look down and see my pecker again instead of a big ass belly. Dating at 45 is serious business apparently as too many young bucks are out looking for cougars.

    Great job man! That's amazing!

My small piece of advice is to track your foods. This will be the key to your successful weight loss and MAINTAINING your weight loss. You don't need to do it forever, eventually you will understand that the 5 oz chicken on your plate is 5oz and not 15 oz. It's super hard to judge unless you track and weigh for awhile. It's important to eat enough to fuel your body properly everyday, this will help your energy levels and make you want to continue. By tracking and knowing your intake you can easily manipulate your foods and still stay within your targets.

For someone on the heavier side, I think a small diet break every 5 weeks or so is important. Just take 2 weeks and (maintain activity) but increase your calories by 300-500 for those 2 weeks (to refuel your body). If you are truly in a cut, it can be difficult to maintain that forever. Eventually your body will adapt and progress will stop.

I agree with this. When people say they get DOMS in legs so bad they can’t walk right for two days and they’ve been lifting for a long time... something is wrong.
Typically it means you are going too long between workouts that you aren’t getting physiological benefits from your workouts. Your body isn’t adapting and improving in other words.
You need progressive overload in a routine.
Either that or your nutrition is way off base and your body is just unable to rebuild.
    Good for you!!!
    Keep it up!!

Today will be leg day. I probably have very little chance of DOMS though. One day I’ll have the leg DOMS again.

Right on man, keep up the good work!
The hard part is staying the course. Focus on the progress you’re making & stay consistent. You can do it!

The type of soreness that sets in after 48 hours. The really sneaky and painful kind.
