Texas needs a “NO VACANCY” sign.

Those that move out weren’t from here to begin with.

Accurate. 2.0 Beta 87 is the shit for the Ginger.

My truck has never run this well. No stutter, throttle response is predictable (although it has softened somewhat as the miles went on), power delivery is mostly linear now. The midrange torque hole has been rectified somewhat, but I guess I'll reserve judgement on this until I've run a 2.0 91 Octane file (or octane learning).

Fuel economy is about the same as it's always been (on non-FOB tunes).

I still have some surges below 2000 rpm, but only when the engine isn't up to temp.

Can't wait for the single table tune/Octane learning!

To sum up - I can just drive the truck now, I don't have to fight it.

    :)

Hopefully Mat isn't up to his neck in slushbox bullshit today :fingerscrossed:

Edit: If that low end response we had on 1.05 91 BFO test file were to make it's way back into 2.0, well that would be awesome!

What we all need to realize is - they will NEVER be completely happy with Mat's work. A/T shifting behaviour, and more importantly, what every individual sees as "normal" is a very subjective thing indeed. Also, there's only so much Mat can do when you take into account the slushbox's OD and axle gearing. I just hope the spin cycle comes to an end sometime soon!

Weirdly, early on with this last tank, I was struggling to keep it above 20.0mpg. A couple longer drives has seemed to fix that and I am holding at about 21.5 with about 3/8 of a tank left. On top of that, the engine and shifts have never been smoother. I would also say that the engine and exhaust is quieter?

My guess is that this is ECU learning, but I have not experienced that before in the Taco. Our previous cars were all turbos, and they would definitely get lazy if not spooled up for hard acceleration every once in a while. Sort of the modern version of an Italian Tune Up. I usually found this after my wife has driven them for a couple weeks.

I am considering trying the Resets to see what happens, but I was holding off thinking that a new Beta version was going to drop. If I fill up before then, I will try the Resets as an experiment.

I will also start noting miles when I swap tunes or do Resets. In the past, I loaded tunes during fill ups, but 2.0 Beta happened toward the end of a tank and threw me off a bit.

IMVHO, the smart thing to do would be to make a best fit tune and then suggest custom tuning for peeps that only want to see 6th slot in at 75mph or whatever. Holding 3rd gear at 35 when cruising around town is just a normal thing for ATs, right?

I'm not sure he has that level of control yet. but that would be a win win, extra charges for custom stuff.

Very true. As always, the real shift point fix for them seems to be an MT. o_O

And, being sensitive to within a couple hundred RPM on an AT is straight up insanity.

Oh well, I hope @OVTune pops his head up long enough to throw us M/T suckas a 2.0 update. Neck deep in the slurry pond is how I imagine his day right now lol.

I'm pretty sure that is his goal. One base tune with customization.

I just seems funny that none of those guys understand it and act like their own peculiarities are gospel.

First Post ever on TacomaWorld... I love the OVTune! My 2018 DCSB 6MT TRD has been a turd since day one. Lurking on this thread sold me on the programming and have only installed the 93FOB tune per the conversation here. With this tune and the URD Spec-U exhaust, the truck finally feels like what I expect when I mat the skinny pedal.

Keep this thread subscribed. 2nd round of 2.0 MT beta tunes should be coming soon. I highly recommend trying it over any 1.05. What is your ECU ID?

Will definitely keep up with the updates here. This tune is the single best mod thus far. The 285's really killed the already lackluster performance of the truck, but this has really brought it back to life. ECU calibration is 04A70
