Yeah man def a real sense of pride after having got it done! I had hired a local mobile mechanic to do some of the work while I was working and it was a Terrible experience and he fucked some things up, posted about it in the gen 3 forum. I had to sack up and hit harbor freight for a jack and fix it all and finish the job myself. Thankfully I can turn a wrench, I would have felt awful had I not been able to fix my on my own.

I am currently clearing lock to lock with regular driving, but I think I’ll need that cab mount chop when I hit off-road. Maybe next week I can swing by? After that I think a bumper is in order!

Anyone "freaking" out about the possibility of a Cat 1 storm coming to S. Florida? I have some new Floridians in the office that this will be there first storm.

I've lived here ALL OF MY LIFE (52yrs) and we've never been hit directly. A Cat 1 will be like a light rain storm. We get worse storms during the summer.

Agreed, been through Katrina here and helped rebuild my hometown in Pascagoula along with other storms. Category 1 is a chance to cookout frozen food.

Cat 1? Pfffft. Been here all my life (30+ years) and I gotta say the only one I felt worried about was...Irma? I think. Two years ago. Only because it was like a cat 4 or something heading straight to Tampa, then changed course thankfully but unfortunately at same time. Cat 1 is just windy rainy day, if even that. Obviously that changes if you literally live on the beach though.

They can definitely sound scary to those that have never been in one before. Your first time hearing things like, "gusts of 40-50mph", can freak you out....then you feel it, say "meh" and become a true Floridian. haha

Though I will admit, even with Irma dropping to like a Cat 2 or 3 (I think) by the time it hit us, it spawned some decent tornados. I know it wiped the park across from my house out, those trees were twisted and mangled all up. Could definitely tell it was a tornado because it kept doing that hit this block, skip a block, hit this house, skip a few...etc type bullshit right in a straight line too.

Now when you start hearing, "gusts of 100+" you're like...aw well sheeeeet.

Not to jinx anything but news and the weather channel sensationalizes every storm like this so people stay glued to the tv incase something changes. Not worried about it.

I agree with you Hunter, lately the Weather Channel is making things out to be otherworldly. Good rule of thumb is if Jim Cantore is in your city ... kick him out.

Interesting story. Day before yesterday, I headed over to Tampa Steel & Supply over in East Tampa. Truck rode smooth as is possible on the 36s. No vibes that weren't there before (I'm suspecting my brake rotors are warped, but never noticed it with the old steering rack with the poly bushings. Now I can feel it in the wheel when I brake). With the new gears though, I learned how much I depend on the engine noise to tell how fast I'm going. It has to spool up a bit more now to run at interstate speeds now with the 4.88s, even with the 36s so I kept having to make a conscious effort to put a little more pressure on the skinny pedal. Luckily traffic was still moving pretty slow from the tail end of rush hour.

Part 2 of the interesting story was I had turned off of Busch on to Florida Ave and hopped over to the inside lane since I had a left coming. There was this little blue cuv thing trying to turn left from the oncoming lane and was planning to bogart his way through. However he saw me coming and put that little shit box in reverse and got the hell out of the way. I guess the big steel bumper and the 36s intimidated the hell out of him.
