I've ridden in my friends modded Taco before. It's night and day compared to mine. You don't realize the compromises that modding can bring until you get back in a stock one and feel how much more quiet and comfortable it is.

But hey....that's cool. Everyone has their own priorities and I completely respect that.

I know what you mean when I had a ome setup it was like a bronking Bull with the new shocks and armor it rides dang good but have a few squeaks and rattles from abuse. The mpg was the biggest shocker from 18-19 to 14 now.

I remember picking your brain about those icons. Doesnt seem like it was that long ago..
Green one! I love how easy the prerunners are to work on. So much more room in the engine bay bc its the 4 banger, and it being 2wd.

Figured out today that my 295/70/17 Cooper ST maxx weigh as much as 315/70/17 Cooper STT pros. Kinda dumb im running tires in the 35" weight range. Wish these darn things would wear down haha

Appreciate that brother!! Stock or close to it is where it's at imo. Keeps things reliable!

    Mobile device?

I copied the photos from a PM sent to a member. I'll try uploading directly from my computer at home later.

Come to think of it, he hasn't responded, so maybe he can't see them either...

    Word!!
That’s crazy they are that heavy but at least you didn’t have to cut the fenders up. If I get another Tacoma for a DD it’ll be a prerunner 5-speed or I’ve been on the hunt for a dclb OR MT I’ve not seen one of those.
Those icons were kinda stiff these ones are really plush it’s weird. Has me thinking they may have been custom valved at some point I know Chris didn’t do that just a rebuild.

I didnt cut the fenders, but they rub like crazy at lock and at full stuff. Nearly tore the flares off on the front at Jambo a couple yrs ago. Decided id let them self clearance. Best choice i ever made considering im probably going back to stock 265/70/17s or light 285s

Yessss, do eet, i can help you fix anything that may be wrong with it. I absolutely love how easy the 4 cylinders are to work on! They are borderline fun to wrench on.. did i just say that??

I also wanted a DCLB with a Manual trans. Unfortunately they didnt make them in the gen 2s and they dont in the gen 3s either. That was gonna be the truck i got. DCLB 6spd manual. Settled on the bed length bc i wanted a double cab. FYI, 2nd gens only came with the 6spd in the ACLB and DCSB models. Im fairly sure the gen 3 is the same way since they still refuse to give us a manual crew cab long bed:goingcrazy:

You running a different pair of icons now?

    Thanks I appreciate it Robert.
Ya traded that first set with Roger for the 886s then kings traded swapped for these icons up front...same madness for the rear.
Well sums it up basic taco it is leaving that stock for mpg most I’d do to it is 5100s and Michelins.

Too late now. You've violated us enough that we don't even notice the penetration anymore. Might as well hang around

Ahhh yes, all the suspension swaps are coming back to me now lol..

Yeah im thinking some michelins and about 2" lift up front and thats it. Probably keeping the camper and bumper, smaller tires should give it a little bit of a gearing advantage
