Thanks everyone and not just @Supra TT

Yeah I've been measuring and meal prepping food as that has been my weak point. Lots of sitting and driving and too many temptations to grab a burger or burrito from the fast food chains. Really didn't realize how many calories that crap was.

So now lots of bbq, good fats, and healthy snacks but still trying to keep under my recommended calories to spur the weight loss. Actually been really good with the diet and going to the gym.

Going to look up some of the exercises and lifts you all use. I tend to just stick to the machines but I've been venturing over to the free weights the last couple weeks.

Awesome man. That's a lot of weight lost and you're off to an amazing start.

Once you switch to free weights I think you will notice a big difference, too. Machines are great for isolating specific muscles/muscle groups but using barbells or dumbbells to perform compound exercises will really crank your metabolism up. Looking forward to reading more about your progress!

I don’t do a lot of core work. I’ve recently been doing some ab wheel but I do that after press days for shoulder mobility...

I believe all my core strength comes from squats. Lots of squats.

I use a digital scale, which I stand on so it’s definitely reading high as I carry my fat from my gut down. My shoulders and chest are always fairly lean. But I’m using it just to track over time as a consistent data point. I don’t want to throw in a random caliper reading in the middle. I suppose I could do calipers now and then again in a few weeks and compare those. It’s just easier to stand on my scale in the morning and get the readings and chart on the app

I hear ya on the scale. Last time I used my scale weight it said I was 15% body fat like 3 weeks ago :( I just use photos (online) now to compare.

I think the best thing about the BF tracking isn't the physical number itself, it's the progress you made. It may say 30, but in reality you're at 20 or 40 or whatever, but if consistent and it's moving in the direction you want, I think that's the best take away from it.

FWIW I would put you more 20% on the left, 18% on the right, especially if you say your upper body tends to be more lean. Nonetheless, great progress in such short period of time!

I’m back under 190. I think that’s good. I’d like to be about 200, but I’m dropping some beer belly fat off. Been getting a good sweat lately in the garage gym/sauna on the rower to get the blood flowing and then lifting weight after. Got a beach volleyball tournament this Sunday so I’m tryin to really get my stamina back up as best I can before that

Yeah I’ve noticed. There are none in my area, at least none that people will split from the equipment they have.

Rogue echo plates are actually on the cheaper end for bumpers. You only really need bumpers if you’re doing oly lifts.

I really need more weights period. I only have 1 set of 45s. I have to add 35s and 25s or whatever to up my weight. Just prefer bumper plates so I can drop my deadlifts lol.

I’ve got so many 25s it’s not even funny. Everyone and their cousin was giving away old gym stuff and only had 25s because they’re weak af lol. I literally have 10 I think.

I bought a set of the colored rogue bumpers because I really wanted the colors but I filled up the rest of my plates with whatever cheapos I could find. Luckily for me, I have a reseller in my area that sells gym and fitness equipment fairly cheap. They have new and used bumpers for $1/lb. Thats the best deal I’ve found outside of someone offloading on Craigslist, but that’s a crapshoot
