I miss the Michigan Brewery. Darn good beers. Too bad they went belly up. Great Lakes Brewing has good beers, and of course there is Founders. The craft beer store here often has some type of Founders on tap.

My tax bill for my 08 in Charleston is right around $200, most of which is for schools. Which wouldn't mind except that I've spent the last 5.5 years babysitting the products of our schools on the weekends and badly want a refund.

 

I believe it is badly rutted in some sections. Sounds like people keep running it even with it closed, so hopefully it isn’t ruined for the rest of us!

 

I read it is open at one end closed at the other, but hey, at least you can get it in the end.

 

You can come up the west side and get to the top! Just can’t go up or down the easy side, which is the fun side

 

The last guy who did this died. They made a book and movie about him.

 

Holy fawk. I just read through all this tax stuff. Man y'all are hammered with property tax. My truck property tax, re-registration fees, and our little hey use tax is only 150 bucks a year. I mean we do have a state inspection which costs 30 bucks or something like that but at least the state side of that charge goes to roads

We voted down property tax hike so they reassessed property. Guess what my property value did according to the county?

Gas is $2.17 here. Ain’t that much more expensive than SC.

Ehhh, a failed tax hike won't trigger a Reassessment. That happens on a 5 year schedule for every county across the state. Unless you have a crooked County Administrator or Assessor they can't influence the property values. Appraisers decide the value, and they typically follow the fair market value trend of your neighborhood.

I'm sure you could appeal if you think it's not a fair appraisal.
