When I switch into "lo-4" the warning light "lo 4" comes on with a nonstop audio beep. Is there something wrong? If not, can I have the dealer turn it off. I live off-grid and use lo 4 often. Thanks Tacoma World

it means 4lo hasnt engaged. Your a manual so you need to have it in neutral and have the clutch depressed.

Without looking at the manual what do I need to do with automatic trans to stop the alarm. Apparently the one time I thought I was in 4wd low I was not.

Our brains sometimes don't see what is there... the book says NEUTRAL, and our brain says PARK is the same thing... so we try and go into L4 while in PARK. No bueno... move the shifter to N, the rotate the dial into L4... ta-dah!

Ok now I do remember reading the manual and I am now sure that I was a victim of trying to go into 4wd lo from park not natural. Now I know. Thanks for all the help TW people.
