    No compression on cyl #4. Kinda like getting a cancer diagnosis I didn’t pay attention to the rest of the diagnostics. I asked the guy at the shop to leave me a detailed report. I’ll
    get it picked up after work.

    Only symptoms included: burning 1/4-1/2 quart oil every 3-5K miles, mildly rough idle, oil catch can filling up pretty quickly (small can filling up every 1000 miles). No smoking. No engine codes. No over heating (after CSF radiator max temp 195). All started on a road trip earlier this year. Then I had found my intercooler reservoir empty. No idea how long it was empty since I went 3-4 months without looking at it.

    Will probably go NA for a few months after new engine/ECU.

    I was just about to ask if the cooler fluid was circulating.

    Sounds like blown ring lands. A thick oil will mask the problem somewhat.

    Didn't you say you ran the inter cooler dry for while? Might be a main contributor to your ring land. I suspect it was my issue as well.

    Yeah. Earlier this year I posted about it (while on a road trip in May). And you had mentioned your troubles with the intercooler. It was at that time that the rough idle began. I agree that the dry intercooler may have been the culprit. After my road trip I got it all redone (new pump, hoses, reservoir) but too little too late.

    Got the SC installed ~25k ago at a local customs mechanic shop hyped by the x-overland people (you tube channel). Since then I found some folks on the Montana thread to be less than impressed with them. Not here to dis on the shop though, I’m at fault here.

    No grease on the skid plate. Some slow weeping / dry residue on the oil pan. Oil coming out of PVC valve (catch can filling quickly). Not too many symptoms to be honest.

    Yeah, to be fair on mine I had 170,000 trouble free miles WITH the supercharger installed. Those were probably some pretty hard miles too. I originally looked heavily into a built motor (which I'm still contemplating) but I eventually decided to spend a bunch of money on supporting mods first, throw in a lightly used engine off of ebay (not as sketchy as it sounds) and boost on. You could swap the engine in a weekend.

    While you're at it toss on a new water pump, front and rear main seals, a few other easy PM items and get back at it!

    I have an engine spreadsheet with a couple of different engine paths if you want to peruse it. Maybe @ThomasMore66 or @GT7 have an updated list :boink:

    Yep, 4 is dead. Wow. That is surprising. Those intercooler pumps are critical apparently. Those running meth/ water injection are doing their engines a good favor.

    Some sort of dummy light or even a "switch" which is always illuminated and stays on all the time, that looks like factory style buttons should be put in on the interior to know if the pump is working.
