What: End of Summer Trail Run and Potluck
    When: Saturday, September 14
    Where: Gallagher Head Lake Trail

*First things first*: LEAVE NO TRACE; TREAD LIGHTLY; DON'T BE A DUMBASS; LEAVE IT BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT; NO DRUNK DRIVING; BE RESPONSIBLE; BE RESPECTFUL (OF HUMANS AND NATURE, BUT MOSTLY NATURE)
    /end mothernaturelovingtexanhippie rant

Slight change of plans, fire restrictions are still in effect, so the smoker/BBQ plan is out. However, I could bring a respectably sized propane grill so we can still have a cook out. It is highly suggested and recommended to bring food to share and/or throw some cash @JimSnell's way since he will be buying all the meat. Take a look at the 'attending' list to see how much or what to bring.
**It is important to have an accurate head count for multiple reasons, so please:
    • If you are attending this meet, you need to post in this thread saying so.
    • If you would like to join a group going up (see below) specify which one.
    • Specify when you will be heading back down the trail.
    • Note what food you will be contributing (so we don't end up with 40 hamburgers and no buns, or worse, 40 buns and no meat)

    Friday Departures:
    • Early Group will meet at the Safeway in North Bend at 9:30am - Depart at 10:00am - Arrive at TH at 12:00pm
    • Mid-Day Group will meet at the Safeway in North Bend at 11:00am - Depart at 11:30am - Arrive at TH at 1:30pm
    • Late Group will meet at the Safeway in North Bend at 5:00pm - Depart at 5:30pm - Arrive at TH at 7:30pm
    Saturday Departures:
    • Early Group: Meet at Pioneer Coffee in Cle Elum at 7:30am - Depart at 8:00am - Arrive at TH at 9:00am
    • Late Group: Meet at Pioneer Coffee in Cle Elum at 9:30am - Depart at 10:00am - Arrive at TH at 11:00am
    Maps/Trail Info:
    http://www.nwjeepn.com/FortuneCreek.htm
    Coordinates to TH: 47.4799110, -121.0444610

    Misc. Info:

    • Bring food/drinks to share
    • Dogs/Kids/Partners are welcome
    • No pass is required for this trail
    • RESPECT MOTHER NATURE - LEAVE NO TRACE

I've got plans all Labor Day weekend, but I'm sure there are some others that would be down for a trail run or camping trip!

I'm happy to organize the trail run again this month, unless someone else is passionate about it.

I'd like to do an actual offroad trail, not FS roads. I'll throw Gallagher Head Lake Trail out there. I think it's also known as Fortune Creek trail. Been on my list for a while, it's a perfect length. Check out picks on the googles. Trail is 6.5 miles, usually takes 2 hours each way. Would probably be an entire day given it's way the heck out there above Cle Elum. I'd be thrilled to lead a grill out at the lake for lunch. Seems like stock trucks can make it with a bit more care.

A big turnout would be awesome, let's make this an end of summer bbq/ trail run celebration thing. To facilitate that, please vote on a date that works best for you, meaning you WOULD ATTEND if it was on that date.

    *9/7
    *9/8
    9/14
    9/15
    *9/21
    *9/22
    9/28
    9/29

*I can't do it over 9/7-8 nor 9/21-22 weekends, but I don't want to be the reason it doesn't happen so if those dates work better for the majority, someone else should take the reigns.

I've only got the weekend of the 14th, but I'd haul the smoker up to the lake Friday night for a good meal Saturday.

My stock tires may not be up for a trail run but I'm around every weekend except the 1st.

They probably will do just fine. Gallagher for example can be run in a Subaru

Wow, thanks for the generous offer, Jim!

Folks it seems like it'd be dumb not to take Jim up on this and plan on 9/14...I'm not calling it just yet, will leave it open to feedback for another day or so.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
The 21st or 28th would work best for me. As for a place... The possibilities are limitless. Black Ravin Brewing and Chainline Brewing up north. Skookum Brewing and Kulshan Brewing way up north. No Boat Brewing and Snoqualmie Brewing farther east. Dru Bru and Whipsaw Brewing way to the east. Seapine Brewing and Two Beers Brewing in Seattle. Headworks Brewing and Off Camber Brewing in my neck of the woods. Odd Otter Brewing and Wing Man Brewing in Tacoma. Hood Canal Brewing and 7 Seas Brewing (also in Tacoma) out on the Penisula. I'm pretty much open to anything.

I agree, @scifidelity, it'd be silly to pass up @JimSnell 's smoked meat in the woods, a Meat Meet, if you will :hungry:

Sooo, I'm just gonna make an executive decision here and say the monthly meet is on the 14th at Gallagher Head Lake. Hope everyone can make it for an end of the summer Trail Run and BBQ! Please make sure to post or pm me if you're planning to attend.

As always, if you want to plan a different trail run, continue to use this thread to gauge interest and then you can start a PM with the interested parties to discuss directions/times/meeting points/etc.

I'm in for the 14th! I would recommend if there is a lot of people planning on coming to this meet. To do 2 separate runs up to the top. The trail can be tight and if there is oncoming traffic it gets fun.

If you want a buddy to camp Friday night, just cleared it with the wife. I'll probably head up after work or take off work a little early for it. Need one last hooray before the kid is here in November :D

I might try to join you guys. I just had a kid 4 weeks ago and I NEED to get away for a night. Hopefully that doesn't sound too horrible.
