You don't have to go to a dealer for yearly inspections. I get mine done at a place local; they do the inspection ($35) and rotate the tires for free. Never have they forced me to do anything, even on my old rusty beater S10. They know I'm very specific and treat it so. We've bought a vehicle from them, several sets of tires, and I buy my autoparts from them (Carquest attached to it).

The Toyota dealer I go to is in Maryland anyways so they couldn't do a PA inspection.

Lol. The ranchhand didn't stop the engine, the design of the truck did.

I have seen several of this style guard just fold over and smash into the hood and engine compartment. Also saw one yesterday on I10 and it was just flopping back and fourth (guess it could have been a cheap one), not exactly the pinnacle of sturdy.

If you want something on the front, get an Avid front bumper bar. It looks decent and won't multiply any damage if you hit something.

They're a vendor here and offer a discount

I got a screaming deal one for my 2012 for about $300. It does look cool, and was a good place to mount a light bar, but after a while it starts to squeak, which is all sorts of annoying. I kinda regret it, but not enough to expend the energy to take it off. It'll stay until I can talk myself into getting a new bumper. Maybe I'll go around and tighten and loctite the bolts sometime.

Every place I’ve ever been to charges $50-$60 for the emissions test. I also don’t feel like sitting around for an hour and a half while they inspect my truck. The dealership where I used to worker had a Carquest.

Heh, I totally forgot about the emissions testing in some counties. We don't have to bother with that here in the middle of nowhere.

At 70mph, I don’t care if it’s made out of 1/2 inch thick steel, it’s going to crumple like a beer can

If you have a 5-lug, this guard would give you a 2" lift to the front end since the guard's attachment arms sits lower than your factory suspension. End result is a bro lift and sparks from scraping the pavement while driving.

They're also crazy heavy. Your front suspension will suffer with one.

I think the Avid bar weights about 30 lbs or so. Not bad at all

Pennsylvania is a small state, so I very much doubt there is more that 15 Toyota dealerships

o_O Pennsylvania is smaller than Texas, but it is not a small state... o_O

I can name five dealerships within 30-40 minutes of my house:

Thompson Toyota in Doylestown, Pennsylvania (Where I take my truck to get inspected)

Peruzzi Toyota in Hatfield, Pennsylvania (Where my truck was purchased new)

    Sloane Toyota in Glenside, Pennsylvania

    Team Toyota in Langhorne, Pennsylvania

Fred Beans Toyota in Flemington, New Jersey
