It’s not far from the truth.....for both Alabama and Auburn “fans”.

I actually deactivated my Facebook and Instagram yesterday, maybe that’ll be a saving grace during football season

I bet a whole month of no social media has been refreshing! We are about to do the same thing, since bow season is just around the corner. Kids are playing HS football, backpacking/camping season and SEC football is almost in full swing. I believe we are going to refresh ourselves as well.

I drink 8 bottles of water a day, thanks to Jeannie putting them in my lunch bag each morning. I drink one cup of coffee on the way to work, have cut out all of my Monster energy drinks since this year, and I feel so much better. Especially after the afternoon headaches went away from lack of caffeine. I'm running more with Jeannie and we are hitting the gym more regularly now. Now I just gotta put down these cigs. I can still run 3 or 4 miles nonstop with her despite smoking, but I feel I could do much better if I laid them down. Tough, tough battle.

Oh yeah, gotta have the milk! I order water with all my meals, I've just gotten in the habit. I cut out monsters because of my gall bladder surgery I had back in March. I feel like million bucks and look and feel totally different. I trimmed off 10 lbs since that surgery, my 6 pack is coming back, my strength and stamina are higher than it's been in the last couple of years. Jeannie, our daughter and I are going to start hitting all the 5K and 10K runs. She said if I wanted her to go offroading with me, I would have to do these runs with her. They are all for a good cause anyway! They are training for the Country Music Marathon in Nashville. That's where I draw the line though. If I can run a 10K nonstop, then I feel like I'm in pretty good shape cardio wise. Screw running 26.2 miles! lol

I hope I one day get to the point where I think running a 10K nonstop is only "pretty good" shape...

I just abhor running unless it's for a sport like football, frisbee, or whatever.....but soccer ranks really really low lol.

running just to...run? nah not for me fam. that's partially why I ordered a jump rope to get a different cardio in.

I did LOTS of rope jumping when I was boxing in the Army. It's EXCELLENT cardio and you'll have some ripped calves! Shoot for a couple sets of one minute increments and work your way up to a full 10 minutes of rope jumping. It's tough, but you can get there with commitment!

Could always get in to Crossfit if you want an alternative form of cardio?

nah, I love my joints too much. I did that shit in the past, I was powerlifting and doing crossfit in a "2 a day" fashion. I'm not participating in anything where someone believes a "kip" is a pull-up.

that's my plan, and to hopefully help strengthen my shin muscles (idk what they're called) to help avoid shin splints and improve my performance in ultimate frisbee lol

Yeah, kipping pull ups are basically just humping the bar for reps.

me and my old workout buddy were doing both together, and we'd go participate in the crossfit class after powerlifting and they'd have however many pulllups to do and we did them all normal with no bands and all of them were like wide eyed in amazement. I'm like wtf you don't know how to do a pullup? the guy running the class was shredded, know why? BECAUSE HE CAME FROM BODYBUILDING. and he was strong AF BECAUSE HE CAME FROM POWERLIFTING TOO

Yep. You don't get shredded from just Crossfit. Its a great tool for sure, but you aren't going to be building much mass by throwing weight around like they do. I did it for a while and ended up with just a bunch of back pain. Lol. Transitioned over to powerlifting and lo and behold, my back feels fine and I'm pulling a lot more weight than I did back then.

exactly. I see the only benefit of crossfit is that it can be more "entertaining" for new lifters and it provides a huge community and comradery. that's about it.

Yeah, I could see that. There's just too much risk involved by doing lifts for time, especially Olympic lifts with so many compound movements. But what do I know, I do my pullups correctly.
