Greeting. I have not looked at the rack and pinion on my 2019 taco so i don’t know if they are different than the ones 30 years ago. I would like a shorter lock to lock on the wheel. Maybe 3 to 4 turns lock to lock. With a worm gear box you only had to install a longer pitman arm . My FJ 40 had a snganaw power box with a Z 28 pitman arm and it was 2 1/2 turns lock to lock. Its hard for a old man to keep up with all the new gear. Thanks

I'm not going out to look, but I feel like my 2016 is definitely not a full 4 turns. Are you sure it's more than that?

I well check the number of turns today. I tore my left rotator cuff turning wrenches and it really hurts to turn this truck. My 2015 Mustang GT turns easy has 2 turns i think

Take my grandpa's old 1970 Chevy truck and do that experiment. About 50 turns to make a full left or right. The fun part was after the turn let the steering wheel spin and spin...while you recovered because POWER STEERING was a G** damn luxury! The shit that people "observe" (aka: complain) here is truly amazing. Most of the time I just enjoy the show, but this one really made me laugh.

It's the whining about whiners that irks me most.

THAT was a 3rd Gen whine. I rule.

So in your initial post you're asking for a " I would like a shorter lock to lock on the wheel. Maybe 3 to 4 turns lock to lock."
Then you go out and actually check and it's 3.5 turns. So exactly what you're asking for?

OP would complain about the knob ergonomics, or maybe that a 'top notch' trucker knob would have used bearings instead of that second rate nylon bushing..
