A little bit of this, a little bit of that...
Im looking at the Boss 2.5 lift for my 2nd Gen. What are better alternatives to the 2" aluminum bump stop extender? DuroBumps with u-bolt flip kit?

Just want to update that I’ve put 1200 miles on my 2.5” diameter set and they’ve really loosened up and feel like floating over dips and bumps. Very pleased!!

Hi guys. I took my 2010 DCSB to my normal local shop so they can check it out since it just hit 100k miles. The mechanic told me that I need to get a new right rear shock. he said that the rest is just showing its age but is fine for now. So this is a great opportunity to get some decent upgrades and a small liftlsince the parts need to be replaced anyways. I am not trying to get a substantial lift. Leveling the front end with 2" overall would be great.

I had the rear leafs swapped out under the factory recall not to long ago so I know those are fine. I am prob getting 5100s to replace and eibach coils. But I have started looking at the boss set up a lot more now.

Depending on time and funds I might do it in 2 stages starting with the rear shocks since I need those now.

Do the factory installed new leaf packs provide enough lift to not need an AAL.
Will The truck be pitched if I only install the rear even on the lowest setting?

    Thanks for any help.

Question for @Toytec Lifts, I have the boss 2.0 on my 2010 Sport with Dakar HDs in back. The 2" rear bump stop plate extension came with the kit but I'm looking at getting new bump stops. Before I do, I need to know what is the closed length of the shock compared to stock? How about the front shocks?

The Dakar leaf pack is about 1.5" taller than the stock pack I removed, which essentially raises the bump stop 1.5" relative to the fixed length of the shock mounts.. So as long as the boss 2.0 shocks have a closed length < 1.5" greater than stock, I do not need the bump stop spacers?

How are you all liking the boss setup? I have a 2018 Sport and I am seriously considering the Boss Lift, the stock suspension is too bouncy and too stiff. I am hoping the boss lift would help with that. I think I would run 275/70/17 with this setup, is anyone else doing the same?

I’d like to run this as well but I’d prefer to not do a CMC or trimming. Anyone have any input?

I'm getting the 2.5 lift w/ OME dakar's, 285/75r16 on stock wheels and was told I'll need the 1.25" wheel spacers. Sounds like if your wheel has 4.75" of backspace you'll be good without trimming or a CMC or if you run 1.25" wheel spacers. I'll find out in about 2 weeks and report back.

Would you be keeping the stock UCAs or replacing them with the SPC or Total Chaos brands?

Any other input from members? Just curious how the kits have been holding up over time, how they have performed. I guess a good question to ask would be, if you could do it over again, would you still buy the boss kit?

I can’t decide if I’m pleased or not honestly.

If I take a speedbump or pothole at decent speed, very happy!! Soaks the big stuff right up.

What I’m not happy is all the seams in the asphalt, concrete and bridges that I feel.

I’ve tried adjusting tire pressure down and it does help minimize but then truck feels sluggish and mileage suffers.

I haven’t ridden in a truck with Kings, Icons or Fox so I don’t know if I’m missing out on smoothness for the little stuff. Not armored so I don’t have that additional weight. But I deleted my swaybar and these do help minimize body sway.

    Guess it’s all trade offs.

Ya I want to get the 2.5s and have a plate bumper on the front. I can't deal with ome anymore I have a SUPER stiff ride no matter what ome coil I use and 3 others with lifted tacomas running ome are even like "dude your truck rides like you have bricks for shocks" so I know it's not just my imagination

I just got the 2.0 and they will be here by the end of this week. Toytec told me if your not hard core offroading you dont need 2.5s unless you just want the "cool" factor
