I have a built in alibi now for senior moments.

Having to take Plavix ( blood thinner ) since my recent heart attack. Side effect is memory loss. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :fingerscrossed:

    Welcome to Kalifornia!
Another new law, new home construction not only requires a solar system, now garage door openers have to have a battery backup, with a backup battery to that.
Did see a bit on TV the other night, some charter schools in minority areas are setting their kids up for success. Imagine public schools doing that? They have structure in their system, expectations, training for students, teachers, admin. They want everyone to succeed. Like it, produce citizens who can contribute and know how to behave, not passing them thru the system.

Afternoon, all. Just completed a radio swap in my old Tacoma. Haven't done one since I was a teenager. The old unit chose to play " Bob Country" station from Savannah GA only. It was possessed. Anyway we found a decent unit online that is NOS from 2013. It came with detailed instructions on removal & new installation.

So I pulled the center dash panel, heater controls, ashtray & lower console panel to gain access. Transferred the mounting brackets & carefully spliced 3 new wiring harnesses to the new unit. Put everything back together & it didn't work!

So, took everything apart again only to discover that the modular connection to the new radio wasn't clicked securely in place.

It works! Who's a happy boy now?

    Good morning Susan, gang,
Squirrels or whomever have left my prune plum tree alone this year. Able to harvest some nearly ripe fruit, as in past years have been lucky to get one or two for myself, tree is a semi-dwarf so isn't too big. About 15 years old or a few more, planted in a hard spot to grow. Have yet to see if I'll get any apples off the few dwarf trees I have. They have only set a few fruit so won't be much of a harvest. One or two on a couple trees, either the wet Spring or heavy pruning last year. Managed to eliminate Fire Blight last year with my vigilance. That is a yearly thing.

A bear broke a branch and knocked all of the 17-20 pears off the tree while they were still green. They are in the fridge ripening slowly.
Last year the bear got our corn 2-3 days before we were going to harvest. We got 2 ears.
We have a few bears that pass through regularly at night, and sometimes during the day. A mom and cubs and an older adolescent.
We are always watchful around us. 'Situational Awareness'.

My latest project is a BBQ cart from HD for a Weber Kettle Grill. The cart was on sale from HD in the beginning of August. The cost was around $250 delivered. At this price point I did not expect a well engineered kit and I was not disappointed. This pics are the finished stain and if you look hard you can see a support 1X3/4 strip of wood I used to support the shortest support plank top of the cut out circle. I am into day 5 of the assembly today. The finish protective spar urethane coating is on all of the wood pieces. Todays task is to put 3 more coats of finish on the table top surface and sanding after the first coat with 400 grit sand paper.

If you are thinking of upping your BBQ work area the HD kit offers a lot of bang for the buck but you must be willing to do some work. If you look at similar offerings the cost exceeds $500 real quick. The best option is to build it yourself but I am really not much of a carpenter.20190826_111104.jpg 20190826_110748.jpg

    Good morning crew,
I don't grill much, still have my table top Buddy L from when I worked at a dime store where I bought it. It is over 40 years old, sand in the bottom, so not burned out yet. Used a couple times a year.
Finally in the 80's here, still opening my mobile home windows midday to WARM it up inside. Crazy.

I grill 3 to 5 times a week. Tonight will be tuna steaks on the grill. Start off with a marinade then put some grill marks on them. Finish up in a frying pan with the marinade. Some cut up red bliss onions with onions as a side.

Harris Teeter had wild caught salmon at a decent price. May be dinner on Saturday.

Dinner is at 5. I cooked extra for lunches this week. ;)

Thanks for the invite at 5 Tom... If I wasn't busy putting up crown moulding and packing for vacation, I just might have taken you up on the dinner. Tuna steaks are goooood.

Finished crown moulding about an hour ago. What a pita it was because nothing in the room is square. Spent more time up and down measuring and measuring to get this the best fit.20190828_141554.jpg

Molding looks great ken. Is the ceiling white or off white? I like the wall color too.
