I lost the other pics I had over the years but its pretty insane, like make you believe in God kind of luck that he didn't get crushed.

The roof collapsed all the way to touching the headrest! Like, where his face shoulda been.

I remember when the rolling started we were all upright for the first 1-2 flips, then the vehicle caught some air as it rotated and somehow that allowed his seatbelt to "release" and go slack, he body then folded forward so that his face was almost touching his knees... then on the next hard landing the roof completely collapsed over the back of his head and it pinned him into that position. If that seatbelt hadn't gone slack his face woulda been absolutely crushed by the roof.

    Straight up miracle IMO.

What? Why would you be holding a burning torch in the first place? Is this the dark ages?

Don't use a gallon of gas to ignite a large pile of dried leaves and sticks. Not only will you burn your eyebrows off you will blow burning debris all over the yard in an impressive column of fire.

    So I've heard......

Sand dunes at night and in flat light appear flatter than they are. Fell for that twice in a 6 hour span. All 4 wheels left the ground both times. You know it was a good one when your headunit pauses the music and your light bar turns itself off. Turns out that relatively modest dune was more like a 6 foot quarter pipe.

Not truck related: If both your parents and her dad tell you that getting engaged is prob not a good idea for one reason or another; It's prob best you shut up and listen. Thank god we didn't make it to the part where you start signing legally binding stuff.

Edit: Especially listen if her dad is a divorce attorney for a living. A really good one.

My buddy built a stroker motor to replace his turbo motor in his Neon. Had an issue with a sensor and the timing, but at the time we didn’t know what the issue was. After playing around with it for a bit he asked me to pull an injector while he cranked it. Obviously not a good idea. Spark caught the fuel and whole engine bay up in flames. He ran to get an extinguisher and me and his brother got some water. Ended up frying the engine harness but everything else was ok.

I later had to rewire the harness for him and we got everything all figured out after that was done.

Well, when you're young and dumb...

We got along really well, but she was a "live in my small hometown my entire life" kinda girl, and I was am a "move around the country and keep things interesting" kinda person. Pretty much our entire downfall was location related. No way I was hangin up my hat at 24 is a small VA coal town.

    Yeah.
When I was building my first bed rack, I welded it around the back of the folding chair I was using as a stand. I cut the back off the chair to free my amazingly crappy-looking but functional work.

A chair welded to a rack? Just what were you making, one of these?

When changing motor oil I usually pull the plug and move onto other things while it drains. I’ve put fresh oil in before remembering to replace the drain plug a few times. Sucks when you only bought enough to do the job and a quart winds up in the drain pan...

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
Well ... I am sure it's not in the top 10 here, but on Saturday my son and I dragged our newly built rolling frame and drivetrain for our 2003 4Runner about 8 miles to my buddy's house. He has a hoist, and that is where we pulled the body off the old frame, so that is where we would put the body onto the new frame. Used a U-Haul vehicle dolly behind the Taco. Got all set, jimmied around trying to get the assembled truck to line up nicely on the dolly, then left for home happy as a lark. About 5 miles into the trip my son says "holy shit, the trailer just dropped off the hitch!" Fortunately the U-Haul system included an emergency brake cable that got engaged when it dropped off so it did not ram the Taco. We had jacks in the truck, so we jacked up the tongue, pulled the pin out of the receiver, inserted the hitch correctly with the pin *through* the hitch and receiver both, boogered a "fix" for the brake system, and made it home the rest of the way. I have never before missed putting the pin through the hitch properly. Somehow we managed to cause zero damage to anyone or anything with that move!
