Most recently dumb thing I did, I was changing all my coolant hoses to silicone hoses on my 05 STI. Some of the hoses that came in the kit were hoses underneath the car by the exhaust manifold and engine block. Finally replaced all the hoses and now it was time to burp the coolant system. As i went to turn on the car, about 3 minutes went by when I saw a ton of hot coolant pouring from underneath the car. My dumb ass forgot to put on the hose clamp correctly on the bottom hose. Glad I had an extra gallon of coolant in my tool box just in case I messed up. LOL

    :annoyed:

I used the incorrect size ball for my fathers dump trailer. I have a 2" and this was obviously not big enough.... Anyhoo, first load (some loam) drove about 15 - 20 miles back and forth a dumped it, no issues. Second load, drove about that same distance to and from with three yards of mulch for my own house. I I was shoveling direct from the trial to my tractor to distribute the mulch. After a while, I went to raise the trailer to bring the mulch closer the the tail to make it easier to shovel. Well, the trailer came off the ball and scratched & dented my tail gate and kind of pinned myself :D. Luckily wifey was home and was able to lower the trailer and we were able to maneuver it away from me and the truck. Yup, dumb:annoyed:

I did a quarter of what you did *your pic creeps me out* yesterday but down a hill in Rowher flats yesterday. In order to save it I steered her straight and gassed it.

Came Back came down hard on the small rock I was negotiating over....

Working on A/C vents in an old 90's Silverado. Motor running to check progress on the vent operation as I reinstalled the dash panel. Driver's door of the truck was open, and the truck was next to the carport wall, so the door of the truck was open into to the shop door on the carport wall. Can you guess the rest? As I was working the dash panel back into place, I accidentally moved the column shifter into reverse. Truck door met shop door jamb. Luckily, I hit the brakes before I completely trashed the truck door and the shop entrance. But it was way too close for comfort. A little patience and attention to the work would have gone a looooong way that day. Hope I learned a lesson!

Truck was three months old when I was taking the trailer to the dump. Sounded off but the trailer has always been hard to seat on the ball. Thought it was seated, it wasn’t. Half way to the dump, hit a bump and the trailer popped off at 35mph. Luckily when I pulled over, the chains held and the trailer frame slid into the ball hitch so no damage.

Worst part, wife was with me and looked over at me... “told you it didn’t sound latched.” :argue:

Her: "Does this make me look fat?"

Him: "No, I've seen you naked. Clothes ain't got a damn thing to do with it."

16 and a new to me 12 year old El Camino. Decided to ‘dress’ the engine bay and rerouted all the spark-plug wires because they were all crazy and whatnot.

Stepdad got a really good laugh out of that one. I think we got lucky because the firing order on his 350 was the same as my 327.

Had a real slow 12v air compressor and every tire had a leak on my old sierra. I’d been airing them up and hearing the noise for so long, when the wifey came home i moved the truck out of the way - dragging the compressor with me. It didn’t survive.

Recently did a river crossing (twas a bit deeper than i thought) and discovered the door seals /don’t seal/

Closed the hatch on my old girlfriend’s Mitsubishi 3000GT. It didn’t latch so I gave it a bit of a push. One dent later and I’m like “Um, has this always been there or did I just do that?”
