there may be a spare tire lock on mine, what would it look like if i do have that
do i need the key?

 

got that stuff here too
have never tried it though...

 

no lock or the tire will not go all the way to the ground?

How far does yours come down?

 

must be two types of crap paint used back under there

 

its about 2 inches off the ground, i used a jackstand to support the weight of the spare

 

So what’s the problem?

 

ya i not shit ya
one paint is peeling, and the other paint nothing is peeling
on the parts that the spare tire butts up against
total confused about it all

 

well how the heck is it supposed to come off of the rope/chain thing

that video showed it came all the way down on the 98

 

how would you get your spare tire off or did you try?

 

Pick one end of the tire up so the other lays on the ground the retainer falls through.

Ah weird no we don't have that stuff, at least not at the ones I've seen. Just stuff to wash the body of the car with. Probably a CA law

 

either I have a spare tire lock or its welded onto the rim, or crusted from the many years of non removal

I think it’s really just green warm water, doesn’t really do anything, atleast that I’ve experienced

1997tacoma said his came with a spare tire lock stock
but i don't know what it looks like

that defective toyota paint is really weirding me out

 

Buy a 3rd gen

 

so now here is the question
if it only is supposed to come down so far
how the heck is somebody supposed to get it back onto the thing that takes it back up and secures it
????
