New to this site sooooo... I am in the market for the upcoming 2020 Tacoma Limited (I'm a city boy and NEED heated seats with lumbar support). Anyway, I'm not fond of chrome so I will be getting the "blackout" package. What I need to know is what size wheels and tires i can put on it without a lift kit? I've read reviews that said it will come with 18" wheels stock. I am interested in a wider wheel. I have no need for a lift as I will not be rock climbing or any serious off roading. Any advice will be appreciated. This will be my first truck purchase by the way.

Plenty of threads on here, however most popular size is 265/70/17. There are a few people who run 275/70/17 on stock height. Take your time to navigate the forum and read up on wheel specs and how they play into the tire fitment and what not. Welcome!

FYI, the blackout package is a gimmick.

Stock suspension can easily fit 35s. Please post pics once mounted

Thanks for the quick repies. Apologies for not researching before posting, I did a quick join and jump feet first method. Anyway I will post pics once bought. Also, @Rustytaco71, what makes the blackout package a gimmick? I can't have those emblems blacked out at the factory? Or is it just cheaper to do it myself? Again, I'm not a fan favorite of chrome.

Cheaper to do it yourself. Generally, any “dealer add-ons” are a gimmick and you can save yourself some money and get something better later on.

To help you save time I can provide a non-sarcastic, helpful comments, quick:
    1. You can black out stuff yourself with plasti-dip.
    2. 32" tires are the largest on stock.
    3. 33" will require some cutting, modifying, or lifting. (and likely even after a lift still require it based on offset).
    4. Don't ask the simple questions, just search first.
    5. Tacomaworld isn't for helping people with trucks. It's for people to make fun other other people's parking and driving skills.

No, Tacomaworld is for complaining about the Tacoma’s truck like attributes. And Friday dumpster fire posts.

Isn't the OR the same price when spec-ed out with heated seats and all? Plus less chrome, without paying for chrome, then paying to black out chrome? Plus all the fancy OR features.

Also not sure how you're planning on using the truck, but if you don't need a truck you might hate having a truck. It will be harder to park in the city, and ride like a body on frame truck. That BMW comment may have been a bit of a sarcastic remark, but unless you plan to off-road, use the bed, or tow a bit, you may be better off with a passenger car and fancier features? Better bang for your buck IMO if you're mainly in the city.

If you want black out let your wallet be your guide. Factory will cost a bit more than DIY but factory will look great and no fuss no muss. If you can, get the dealer to give you 17" wheels and tires. They should offer several brands besides Toyota (SCS et al) If you're not going to off road a lot OEM Goodyears are not that bad although you'll hear a lot of bad-mouthing here from the dedicated OR guys. They are good street tire and okay for mild off road.

I'd recommend steering towards an Off Road or Sport package with tech/premium. Gets the same fancy stuff as the Limited, without the extra chrome.

Wow. Didn’t think I was gonna stir the pot with my post. But to answer some of the more “serious” replies... I do plan on buying a boat very soon after my truck purchase so a truck is a need. I also hunt on a friends remote property several times throughout the year. As for the tips about blackout. I’m digesting everything I read and see on the road. I’m thinking of machining some myself. I did like the dipping idea though.

@CoTacos.... I used to have an F-150 Platinum but it was too much for what I need/want. Plus, I couldn’t park it in my garage. The Tacoma will fit.

I was going to make this recommendation. The TRD Offroad 4x4 should be given strong consideration.

I’m looking at 21-22’ deck boat. Not sure on brand yet though. Been looking at Hurricane, Tahoe, and Bayliners. Waiting for our annual boat show coming up to go see
