The acidity in the Roma Tomato’s leeches out the metal making it taste like it came out of a tin can. I use a porcelain canner. Works great & nice size batch.

No, now you believe an old wives tale. Stainless steel does not react to acidic food, cast iron does if not really well seasoned.

This, although all of my cast iron is pretty well seasoned and never had a problem with it.

Never use Aluminum and tomato sauce though as it will get a metallic taste. Aluminum does leach with tomatoes which is acidic. My kitchen pots are All Clad SS.

I kind of figured Kingsford will be on sale this weekend. A quick look at the Lowes website says twin 20 lb packs are $16.88. Not sure if that is a good deal or not.

    Morning Gents,

Traeger outta pellets so had to fire up the charcoal...Tossed a few chunks of Pecan in for good measure

Tri-tip, few stuffed peppers, and some mac and cheese in the foil. Not bad for a Tuesday night.

To get a deal like that up here you’d have to break out your own pick ‘n shovel.

That's a sale, but nothing to go crazy over.

We're going to turn this thing in to a BBQ cartel.

Looks good and way to represent the full lineup!

Memorial Day, it was something like $13 for the twin packs, but they were 20 lb bags instead of the 18.x lb bags. I remember doing the math and it coming out to a pretty comparable price per pound, if not a tad more expensive now.

I'm down to my last 25 bags and this weekend will run through a bunch of them, so I'm ready to stock back up!
