Did a bunch of exploring and found what has to be the most beautiful campsite Iv ever seen. If anyone is ever up here pm me and I’ll send you the coordinates for this place.

Glad you're enjoying yourself. Go check out Crisp Point Lighthouse. It's not far from Whitefish and kinda on the way to Pictured Rocks.

Well pictured rocks was very cool but I’m finding that even though we look online before we get places to see if they allow dogs and they say yes, when we actually show up there are no dog signs at the entrance to the trails. Getting a little old. But anyways, here’s a picture!

Awesome pic!! I haven't been there before, but would like to so as to see the shipwreck museum.

Bleh...yes, it is hit or miss with dogs at places. I wish they were more upfront on their websites and such about where they are welcome.

Be aware when you make it out to Moab......at least when I was there about 1.5 months ago, even most outside patios on the restaurants did not allow dogs. They'd allow you tie your dog to the fence and have them outside of the patio. We ended up finding a Quesadilla food truck that was parked at picnic tables and ate. I was really surprised with Moab being a big recreation area.

    Safe travels!

Yeah it’s fine if dogs aren’t allowed, it’s just annoying when we drive 40 miles out of the way and then find out he can’t walk down a trail on a leash with us. I’m sure the hordes of senior citizens do way more damage than my dog could ever do lol

Table service in Moab, in general, has been the worst I have ever seen in all of my travels. I dont know why that is, but its a bit of a disappointment to an otherwise fantastic town. Our most recent visit through town we stopped at Eddie McStiffs because they are listed on the BringFido website as being dog friendly. They shooed us away, saying that they were about to close the patio due to an impending storm. (It was cloudy out with a 10-15mph breeze. I guess thats what southern Utah calls a storm? :notsure:)

Parts of Colorado have weird rules too. I had a hell of a time finding dog friendly patios in some towns. The one restaurant in Pagosa Springs that allowed it actually had the patio divided into dogs / no dogs sections. But for most places, BringFido has been highly valuable in finding decent restaurants and even a few tourist attractions.

I find that annoying also. I'm sure you know, but the trails within or controlled by the National Park system do not allow dogs. National Forest hikes are a mixed bag, but the majority Ive found also dont allow. (Their argument is that poorly trained dogs tend to harass wildlife.) Most state parks OTOH, do allow dogs on trails. Every once in a while Ive discovered a real hidden gem of a state park because of that.

To be fair we have found plenty of places he can go and he’s having a great time. He was a little put off when he ran into lake superior and discovered it was not warm. Also shoutout to Portside inn in Marquette MI where I’m currently drinking a beer on the patio with the pup.
