Agreed. I took mine in for the 0062. They only put in 0058 because of the conditions I was describing. It fixed the stumble and changed the shift points for a short time, but ultimately once the computer relearned it's hardly noticeable that I had anything done.

    I've got a 2017 DCLB OR as well ;-)
Stapp Interstate Toyota did this update for me. Don't just tell the dealer you want the TSB applied. When requesting service, quote the problems listed in the TSB. If they give you back-sass at that point, show them the print out of the TSB
T-SB-0058-18 lists the same ECU update as the fix in 0062-18, so you can use the symptoms from that one as well.

As a last option, you can install it yourself. Check out the OVTune development thread. There are instructions for downloading a PC application called TechStream and the ECU file, and how to install the update. That would require buying a cable as well. Additional benefit of this path would be the added ability to make all those changes that the manual says can only be done by the dealer.

Similar experience here. What really fixed it was OVTune. 1.05 was a big improvement, 2.0 (currently in beta, and what I'm running) is a game changer. Truck actually shifts like you expect an AT to shift, gear hunting is all but gone.

What dealers? Also to echo, you can't just go in and ask for a T-SB to be performed. You need to state something like " I have a stumble on wide open take-off, seems worse in the mountains".

Prefer not to call them out. I did go in and stated the issue for 0062 which does occur, but they said they could not recreate the issue and would not apply the tsb.

    Note: ECU: 04B03

Maybe i should have the misses take the truck in.

I will...Groove Toyota in Englewood. I took mine in for a regular service and told them I'd also like the 0062 TSB. The tech asked why. I told him about the stumble in cold weather conditions and erratic shifting in the mountains. He didn't push back or question anything I told him. When I got the truck back they told me they did 0058 since that's what addressed what I wanted fixed. That was good enough for me...they've always taken good care of me there.

I'm moving to OVT and 4.88s as soon as I can.

Stooopid question: Is there any downside to installing 0062 TSB? Does it hurt anything? Is it just a software download with a cable? If Yes / No / Yes -- why install 0058 if the customer specifically requested 0062?

To clarify, I may or may not work at Groove Toyota. As a general rule, a TSB can't be applied to a vehicle that doesn't exhibit the condition. In most cases of just ECU reflashing the condition doesn't need to be experienced by the technician to be applied.

As far as flash programs, the link in the T-SB should automatically download the latest version of software regardless of what T-SB was performed.

And Extreme 4x4, all girls garage. She was a great ambassador in leading the charge for women in the 4x4 industry and trade skills arena. I hope she will be followed by many more.

Wife's 2007 4Runner Sport is experiencing A/C problems: right side blows cool/cold, but left side blows not-so-cool/warm.

Is this type of problem best handled by a dealership? A Toyota specialty shop like Toy Doctor in south LIttleton on Broadway? Or should my local mechanic who has done good by me so far be able to handle it?

Any feedback about a local A/C specialty shop my wife found from on-line searching, maxaircolorado.com?

you have kids, right? What’s the chance they have been feeding the left side spare change, crackers and such until it’s blocked up?
Does it smell like rotting? Maybe a rodent set up home in there.

Really, you need a competent mechanic that can take apart the dash to get to the ducting and look for the blockage. As far as I know there is no mechanical blockage between left and right. Nothing you really should need a mechanic for.

Gawd I can’t stand people. Lady comes to door with dog (on a retractable leash thing), my wife opens the door. The dog bolts inside, the lady can’t control it, and it attacks my dog. Thankfully, it had a muzzle, so it can’t open it’s mouth wide enough to do much damage, but I still had to punch it in the head three or four times to get it to release. Fun times, having my own dog attacked INSIDE my house. My pup is ok, no puncture wounds, I think it was only able to kind of pinch the flesh.
