If I never go off-roading, would a 3” lift still put a strain on my truck?

oh man... a 3" lift will light the truck on fire, roll it sideways down a hill, start WW3, and possibly be the sole cause for the aids virus.

j/k. it'll be fine. everything puts a certain amount of strain on a truck. all how its executed really. I'm running a 3 inch lift on mine and haven't had issues. YMMV

2” will keep your CVs in the sweet spot. Basically 23” at the front fender straight up from center of wheel

Honestly, I think you'll be fine with a 3in. Mines a 3in with larger tires and a locked diff. Daily drive it and its all good. No issues with anything.

Welcome to Tacoma world where the sarcasm flows like a river btw. The above isn't sarcastic though lol.

Rubbish. No lift will keep your CVs in the “sweet spot”.

suppose I should have said sweet spot without issues

    1-2” keeps them almost factory

I’m at 1.5” and they are damn near horizontal

It puts a strain on the wallet. Lift the truck and wheels and tires are next.

Prerunner's are easy too lift,as you don't have to worry about those junk front cv axles.

Being 2wd.... you can go with 3 inches, but new ucas are gonna be needed. You can also go with 4 inch spindle lift and not need new ucas. Or stay around 2.5 and not need ucas.

Professional off road racers and rock crawlers don’t lift their trucks, neither should you.
