    Believe it or not I actually use that area. I put my sunglasses in there because it's tucked in and since it's dark in there anyways no one thinks to look in there if all they see is black since my sunglasses bag is black.

    Speaking of supercharged tundras...has anyone perused their forums? What kind of power are they making and do they have any good mod ideas we can steal :)

    I can't imagine they've been more creative than this group.

    They definitely have not. I have scoured many supercharger forums including theirs in pursuit of ideas outside of what I have originally added to our page and they definitely do not have the dedicated fanbase we do. The ones who are keep their secrets fairly tight under wraps because they don't want the others taking their ideas. Not here. Free trade, because we love each other and want to see each other go faster. ;)

    Average HP increase from their setups are about 100HP over stock, but then they run into a semi brick wall because they have plastic internals on their valve bodies and trannys which leads to frying of their transmissions. I believe it is their boost valves if I remember right. Unless they bust out their dedication tools and either modify said valve bodies and trannys or send them in for modification, they are in trouble.

    Hey guys. I have an issue. My dyno guy still can’t work out what is happening with my boost cutting out at 3000rpm.
    The only thing I can think of is that this has something to do with the engine and ecu I have was bought second hand out of an automatic Ute and mine is a manual. Would this have anything to do with it?

    I can’t think of a way that the ecu can control boost. It’s a mechanical operation. If you’re only missing boost the I would check for belt slip. What size belt are you running?

    Now if you’re saying the engine is cutting out or going flat at a certain rpm range then it could be your ecu/tuning. Did the ecu have the exact same part number from Toyota? I know you can put an automatic ecu in a manual, but I don’t know if you can go the other way. You’re tuning with HP Tuner?

    I’m just running the same belt size as standard. I haven’t changed it since I changed to a smaller pulley.

    No one in Australia has the hp tuner software to tune the ecu from trd. It can only be done by someone who has a certain program to access the trd software. The guy who has my car now is able to do it.

    The engine does rev past 3000rpm but it’s a struggle.

    If the belt is slipping, would it make a slipping noise that is typically of a fan belt?

    Actually I just realised something...it’s cant be the belt slipping because when I take off the vacuum line from the sc to the bypass valve I then get full boost all the way to red line. When I reconnect the vacuum line it goes back to no boost at 3000rpm.

    A good buddy of mine has a single cab tundra s/c. I’ll ask to double check but I’m positive it’s unmodded putting out a little over 500

    Have you not checked the vacuum line and get another bypass valve to test out. Its a mechanical problem not your ECU ;)

    Seems like this thread has somehow blown belt slip way out of proportion. 2.55 pulley and stock belt should have minimal belt slip.

    Yeah that’s where your issue is at then. Technically you should be running a smaller belt length, you can verify what size and part numbers with the first post of this thread. If you have proper operation when you disconnect and plug that hose then you’ve got an issue there. Many of us put hose clamps on that line to keep it sealed when in boost. Maybe you could take a picture of it for us, just to confirm it’s connected properly?

    possibly a leak when a certain pressure is reached was all I could think of.

    The engines are cool. It's the trannys which are the Achilles heel after the 600HP mark because of the internal boost valves being made of plastic. At least from what I remember.

    FWIW, I'm running a stock belt on a 2.5" RIP-Modded Pulley with @Roostfactor's Pulley Wrap Mod, and have yet to experience any belt slip.
