Haha I would gladly give somebody some weights for a set of 45s. I’m trying to get myself back into working out as well and motivation is a struggle so stupid things like not having the right weights irritates me.

FWIW - the colored Rogue bumpers are like $1.89/lb and the standard black is like $1.55/lb. Those are the prices if you buy them in a set...and not including shipping...but still not THAT much more than the $1/lb deal I found for off brand so if you really want bumpers and you want quality for banging them around in your garage I’d go ahead and get some from Rogue :notsure:

Nah. No bruising. Had my girlfriend do some work on them too after along with some upper back. I think I’m more sore from that than I am from my workout though

My hubs has his massage therapy certification and he’s learned to do legit sports messages.

Shit is painful and will leave you with marks.

    But it works lol

I don’t usually bruise from the massages, but I am definitely sore as shit the next day. Not sure if it was from the backnworkout I did Monday or her massage. But probably the massage/tissue work haha. It’s been a while since she’s worked on me. She’s been slacking big time, gotta whip her back in to shape

I shoot for a deep tissue massage each month. It's painful in the moment, but it's what it does for me afterwards that is where I get my releif. I have bee looking to get some chiseling done to help break up even more scar tissues throughout the years - but I can't find anyone locally. There is about a 1 hour drive (to Indianapolis area) to find a local area.... Have you guys done any chiseling?

Edit: My massage lady I feel like hasn't delivered up to expectation anymore... Especially since I've been with her for 2 years now I feel like they've got my business and just "do enough to get by"... Is that wrong of me to think that way? I dunno... Seems like it somedays.

No thanks. She already goes way too hard haha. I have to tell her to ease up every now and then.

Have you had a dude do it?
I don’t go to female therapists just because I want man strengf not like some 100lb 5 foot something chick LOL.

I’ve never heard of this chiseling. I’ve had graston to break up scar tissue and thats been intense enough to make my eyes well up.
    Is it similar?

    Bahaha

I believe the other proper term for it is Graston. Also, shes about 200 pounds, built like a powerlifter! I'm nearly dying in there someday from the pain lol. If she didn't have that, I wouldn't continue because I agree, a 100 lb girl gonna have a tough time getting those muscles to break down.

    Shit I need her then!

I’ve had graston done on my hamstrings, IT Band, foot, and shoulder.
It hurts like hell. IT Band is the worst.

It really does help when I’ve used it for PT, and PTs are the only ones I’ve seen for it.

If you’ve got IT Band issues it probably going to help you.

I had it on my foot because the scar on the top of my foot has ended up adhering to the tissue below it so I can’t curl that foot down anymore. Graston was to slowly peel it away... yeah I hung in there for a few sessions then decided it really wasn’t that important to me lol.

But if you hang in there its supposed to breakdown all that tissue and smooth it out.

That is what I need, at least 3x a year or so. I've spoken with her a few times about it and she was highly considering learning the practice of it and said she'd use me for a few trials - but she had some other concerns come up in her life and she pursued a second career. I wouldn't even say her massage is career, just her 'job'.

The girl I go to is like 5’1”, 110 lbs, and she’ll almost make you cry. I don’t know how she does it, but it’s fantastic. I don’t go nearly enough because it’s expensive. Especially now, because every time i go to schedule one and my girlfriend finds out about it, she wants it to be a couple’s massage

This is how I feel about my chiropractor. I’ve got 3 more sessions and I’m done. They just set up my “consultation” where they are going to try to sell me on more but I’m walking. I’m going to start some massage therapy instead

    But you’re 5’1”, 110 lbs

The one we use is very good about that, not pushy at all. His goal is to get you back to life and to the point where you DON'T have to see him, although in a perfect world one appointment 6-12 months isn't a bad idea but my wife hasn't been in 3 years now and she has terrible back issues...but she doesn't have to go unless they act up.

I’ve never been to a chiro before but people swear by them.

I have my PT on speed dial so I always just go that route. My BFF is a physician with the osteopathic certification, hes been manipulating my knee and its been quite helpful. Maybe a chiro could help too.
