Will I need sway bar drop, and carrier bearing drop with this setup?? Anything else this kit is missing, I like the price. Oh and brake line extensions

Not likely, I have had both 885 and 887 springs paired with 5100s and neither required a swaybar, carrier bearing drop kit or extended brake lines.

I also have a 3 leaf AAL with overload left in for 2 inches of lift in the rear.

It would help if you spec'd out the kit with springs and rear lift option.

No experience if its 886 or 888 springs.

You pick the springs as part of the package. You also pick the leaf option.

That's the kit I am looking at, thinking about the 887s and 3 AAL. But also thinking about getting the light racing UCAs to be safe. From what I've been told and read you don't need them, but it helps a lot with alignment/tire wear and handling. I'll be pulling the trigger on this kit soon. What coils are you planning on going with?

did this exact kit, with 888 & (med) Dakars. No sway bar drop on mine...did however do the carrier drop which is easy! rides very well (stiff) but not uncomfortable.

So you are pushing closer to 3", so I'd really consider the UCAs. Here is a pic from there website, give it a read.

I plan on just getting 5100's up front and setting it at 1.55" (or possibly the 2" max). I will not bother with anything else, and should be fine. Just want to get rid of the Taco lean.

This is the most common kit on this forum. There’s tons of info out there. Tbh Bilsteins don’t really need UCAs and all that extra stuff. It’s nice to have but not necessary.

You will only need extended brake lines in the rear if you pair dakars with bilsteins, if you mix ome in the rear (bilstein in front) you do not require brake lines. I run this kit with 887.
    -No sway bar
-Carrier bearing is up to you, i took mine out and replaced with leaf shims (because of the heavy duty dakars)
-with 887 you will want to replace your needle bearing with the ecgs bushing or you'll have vibes there.
    Goodluck

Good call on the uca because you will be getting bigger tires. Might as well get a cmc done while your in there. Because well... bilstein lift is where it all starts

I just used their 5100’s and a single Deaver AAL. Kept original coils, and lifted my OR 1.75”. No brake line extensions needed. @HeadStrong Off-Road sells a spacer for the taco lean you can put in front when you install that kit if you like, call them and ask Marie about it. She’ll set you right.

You don’t need to relocate the sway bar. I asked Marie at Headstrong this already. The few issues she’s seen have been resolved by alighnment.

I did this same exact setup. No UCA's and aligned great. No abnormal tire wear or handling issues 20k in. Rides better than stock to me even with HD Dakars and shell.
