Good luck, he’s likely buried in horseshit in the Alpha thread.

What are these resets you speak of? Maybe that’ll help with my mpg loss...

Never mind, saw the steps earlier in the thread. Someday I’ll learn to search first, ask later, but until then, I have no pants on.

Shoot...I took all my expedition gear and canopy off, now this tune is insane. My throttle is a smile button. Makes me a little sad to be putting on 1000 lb of camper tomorrow...

Bros. I don’t know what I am doing wrong here. I followed the instructions to get my system ID and nothing happens.

Laptop needs to cool off, MAKE SURE TO USE ROOM-TEMP, DISTILLED WATER ONLY, otherwise it could overclock the root drive.

Don't shift until you're closer to 3k. This truck doesn't have to be a slouch (deff shift later than my 95 Pathfinder though)

    Thanks for the “help”

I figured out was wrong. I am using my work laptop, and the anti-virus software, Saphos, was detecting one of the OVtune .exe files as malware. I believe it was being downloaded every time I pressed update.

So...Every time I pressed update in the OVtune software, Saphos detected it and deleted it. It was logged in the Saphos activity record.

IT gives us free reign to do whatever we want with our computers, so I just temporarily turned off the anti virus program.

Problem solved. If anyone else has this issue, I found a solution.

@OVTune don’t know if this is a known issue but I solved myself. If someone else has this issue, let them know.

I usually find out where max torque is and shift then. For example on the 3.4L it is 217 @ 3600rpm So I shift at 3600-3800 for that one.

Oddly enough Subaru claims the WRX (non-STI 2.0) gets max torque from 2000-5200 rpm but that is not true. It is at about 4000rpm but my wife just redlines it all the time anyway.

In the Tacoma I would shift closer to 5000.

Also keep in mind this is because I drive like a bat out of hell for the fun of it everywhere I go, and my wife is a lead footed speed demon.

I won’t lie, glad to have company in the Fat Kid area of @OVTune customer/tester spectrum. Where we pray for single torque maps and gobs of power at 2200rpm and up! Hopefully Mat will gift us a new test file soon. ;)

With turbos at WOT, the broad and awesome torque curve will be flat because the system manages max pressure and why the days of simple MBCs are over. One of the cool aspects that I enjoyed for many years. But at less than full throttle, there will be a peak as the engine breathes more through the turbo.

This is one of the big difficulties with folks understanding OVT. It is not all about WOT but mainly about part throttle feel.
