This has to do with the ac... If you turn the ac off, the "shaking" will go away. Also pretty sure there is a TSB fix for this as well.

Don’t accept that. Be assertive but not an asshole.

If you want either one of them, tell the salesperson you know there’s been TSBs on vibrations and ask if these Tacomas have been check against them. Better yet, print them out and give them to the GM.

An educated consumer typically is happier with their purchases. If you’re dropping $35K+ on a vehicle, you have to use what you know to be true and fight for what’s right. No one’s going to protect your interest more than you.

It’s easier to be disgruntled though...

The more OP writes, the more I’m thinking OP needs a Prius or a Corolla.

I actually drove a Silverado Z71 LTZ Texas Edition late last night. Damn, that thing has some power. I looked it up just now and it has 420hp. This is a detuned Corvette/Camaro SS motor, by about 30hp.

With all of the "good trucks" with no vibrations, I guess I will have to drive a shitload of trucks.

Ive noticed the shaking while parked, it aint nowhere near noticeable/bad enough for me to be bothered by it. Havent really noticed the vibrations while slowing down, I mean I can feel it when I slow down a lot real fast, but that just seemed normal to me. The last one can be annoying, Id rather have an even power distribution, or more low end speed up than when the RPMs are higher, but oh well, still aint buying a ranger.

I hear that, I would never buy a Ranger. If someone gave me one, I would sell it and take the money and run...whoo, hoo hoo

    You must be new here...

    So, welcome to TW.

My recommendation is trust your first instincts, and keep searching until you find something that suits your needs. Pretty obvious that the Tacoma doesn't.

    Good luck.

If we deleted all the stupid threads in the 3rd gen section then there wouldn't be a 3rd gen section, and that's just no fun for anyone.

They all have the same mild 25-15 mph decel vibration. I don't believe anyone who says their 3rd gen doesn't have it. The statistics alone suggest that it is widespread. Some people have driven multiple new trucks on the dealer lot and they all had it. Reality is, one person's definition of 'vibration' might be different from another persons. If you drove a pickup truck from 1955, you'd probably think the Tacoma drives smooth as glass. If you drove a 2015 Lexus you'd probably think this thing vibrates like mad. It's all relative.

It's a very minor/overblown issue in the grand scheme of things, IMHO.

I was really worried about wear and tear and eventually break and leave my wife/daughter stranded and I can only see it getting worse not better.

I can't help with irrational worries.

I can say that if you are going to buy a 3rd gen Tacoma and enjoy it, you will have to accept a few of its quirks.
