    You're welcome!

I do enjoy how my wife's Forester XT hooks up. That is one excellent motor, but after a good launch, I'm ready to exit the drivers seat because of the stupid CVT.

It is not new and quite common for a lot of software.

I love the new 2.0 tune but unlike most on here I am not experiencing any MPG gains. Still average 14-15. Tried 91 and 87. Not much difference with either octane.

Okay hold on. I just re-viewed the instructions and that line no where to be found.

    93DD1ADD-C9BB-44FB-B234-3C4808B5F7B8.jpg

I don’t think #readingishard is a fair criticism being that 1) it’s not in the instructions and 2) how am I supposed to know that “flash manager” will lead to a FAQ. 3) I figured out the issue on my own without anyone’s help.

F- outta here with the standard Tacoma world BS.

It is mentioned in all the tuning threads about 700 times that AV causes this issue

I’m just over here with a dedicated tuning machine with all that garbage disabled and zero issues :anonymous:

I have the OVT software loaded on two computers that have nothing disabled other than an AV Exception for the Toyota Flash folder. Zero issues here.

The struggle must be real though?

It is funny how TS and FORScan (Ford and Mazda) OBD suites throw up AV flares also. Such trauma. Just a note, but this kind of crap did derail some 2.0 development about 2mo ago.

It is in our best interest to fucking #read and notice that no one here is getting hacked while using the tune software for something like 2yrs now?

I get it man, but navigating these threads is a nightmare.

I don’t like reading them because 95% of the post are off-topic and 4% and whiners and complainers and .05% are actual constructive feedback for OVtune and the remaining .05% contain useful information.

CVT is yucky. Subaru is supposed to be stick shift friendly but every time my wife takes her car in for service they hassle her for it or ask if she wants to trade for an outback or something that only comes with 2 pedals

It completely changes the characteristic that even the manual mod can't fix. I can't even explain why, but true geared slushboxes are just better.

I tried to get her into a WRX, but no dice. She was hooked on Foresters since the early 2000s and was bound to finally get one. I tried my best to find a 2007 or 2008 XT MT or even a Legacy GT wagon. No dice at the time. Those non-turbo CVTs are a hole where torque and acceleration went to die.

CVTs can go in the trash as far as I’m concerned. Give me electric motors.

Exactly. I feel that I can live with EVs as long as I can have a heavy regen option to maintain control.

As far as CVTs keeping the engine at the best operating RPM, I have found that to be very untrue not even getting into the delayed reactions and bad guesses (fuzzy logic?). Full nope.

For as much as my wife complains about my own delayed reactions and bad guesses, it still shocks me that she loves it more than anything previous.

when Subie went full CVT (well, mostly CVT), i went nope on Subie. i did test drive a Crosstek. that car is probably perfect for a CVT. aaaand nope. i can't believe people buy those.

choose: a properly working CVT, or a 3rd gen AT? (although there doesn't seem to be a definition of 'properly working' with those).

I wanted to love the Crosstrek because it is the size of the old Foresters, but the lack to MT, turbo, or leather put both of us off. We did test drive one just in case and was further put off by the anemic power.

But yeah, they are everywhere. Seeing droves of the much larger Legacys and Outbacks with the same engine has me scratching my head also.

Pfft. His own posts are such garbage that he's padding his own BS stats.
