I ordered an ARE V series for my 2019 Tacoma DCSB.
After I ordered it I called the dealer up to have tracks added to the cap.
Not sure if I will ever use them but figured now was the time to add them if in doubt.
My question is, are the tracks some what universal to allow most towers & cross bars work with the tracks?
I know Yakima is one of the most common but probably looking at over $500 for landing pads, towers & crossbars.
Curious if there is a more cost effective alternative to Yakima.

Yes and yes. ARE uses Yakima tracks, they will fit Thule accessories and vice versa as well as several other company's parts. There are several companies that make tracks with the same dimensions that will work too, ex. Proline https://www.prolineracks.com/proline-roof-end-track-slats.html.

The good thing about them being factory mounted is that you get the factory warranty, the bad part is they charge you a lot and, from multiple reports, their customer service sucks.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
I don't know who you are referring to about customer service sucks. I just ordered my third ARE topper. I had them on a 99 reg cab, 3003 DBCB and will have on 2019 DBCB. Never had any problem with ARE. I always get the rails factory mounted for the reason Bajatacoma stated - warranty. As for Yakima, I've had Yakima racks on my vehicles since 1984, in all sorts of configurations. Their customer service is great. I used it multiple times. BTW, the first bike carrier back in 84 was the only one I've ever bought new. All since, have been bought used at a fraction of original cost from CL or newspaper pre CL days.

Glad you are happy, I've been pretty happy with mine as well but that doesn't change the fact that there have been people on here and other forums that have complained about their customer service. My only real experience with them was having them tell me I needed to go through one of their dealers to order parts and then being told how much they want for those parts.
