Hello all, I've been browsing here for a few months trying to learn as much as I can about Tacomas to aid in my searching and purchase. I put up a thread in the FS forum but figured I'd drop in here too and see if anyone may have one or know of one for sale.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wtb-tacoma-v6-4x4-access-cab-automatic.625840/

Due to what seems like high demand here I'm assuming I'll end up buying out of state, but we'll see what I can find. So far it's been months of searching with not many found which fit my criteria as maybe I'm looking for a bit of a unicorn. Seems access cabs are rare compared to the double cabs.

If anyone has a line on one or knows of any other places to look other than the usual (autotempest, CL, Autotrader, Cars.com, Carguru's, offerup) please let me know. Any other general buying tips are also greatly appreciated. I'm already up to speed on the frame rust issues and have a Carfax account so I can see if the trucks spent time in areas known for rust.

Check FB Marketplace, there’s a bunch on there.

I've been looking there regularly as well but it's been probably the worst source. Tons of stuff people never take down or never respond to and you can't search by 2wd vs 4wd.

Thanks for looking! Saw that one when it was posted but it looks to have a poor history. It spent it's whole life in VT, has 2 accidents on record and as of June this year has been flagged as having "structural damage" :( I"ve actually never seen that reportedon a carfax before (and I run a LOT of them).

Ah man bummer! I wish that history was more readily available. I'll keep my eye out.

Yeah, it's interesting what shows up on the carfax reports and what doesn't. I'm really spoiled having an account and super helpful considering the two vehicles I've been looking for have kinda been needle in haystack type situations and even shopping for my fiance's CR-V was surprisingly difficult.

It took me almost 7-8 months to find what I was looking for! It’s out there, keep looking, check all those sites a few times a week. You might even over pay a little like I did, but it was the one I was looking for! Goood luck

Thanks, Arbi, that's encouraging to know I'm not the only one. A friend of mine did mention that there's so much demand here that it's like having a "socal tacoma tax" But I believe him, definitely better pricing in other areas from what I can tell. I'd much prefer to buy locally though just for the ease and so I can actually see it myself.
