Thanks Guys. I did noticed the passenger side recovery point on my SR5. But I haven't really noticed the loop on the driver side. Guess I need to get down there and look.

OK maybe stupid question. But lets just say that I wanted to remove the loop like you did. Are there similar mounting points for a recovery bracket / hook on the driver side? Just to make things look symmetrical (and be useful).

Not to my knowledge; because there is a big loop there. :D

Highly recommend a US Offroad insert. Symmetrical AND holds a winch. Skookum as hell.

It appears that they only make the insert for 2nd gens. You're in the 3rd gen forum... Sweet looking setup though.

Valid point. My point is: don't be "THAT GUY" that has fake AF shackles on the truck and not have a viable option when you need them.

Although the thought of someone trailside, truck in the mud, explaining why his shackles aren't a valid recovery point brings a smile to my face.

Gotta love friends with proper tools to overdo a job. Gotta find something to use his new CNC plasma cutter to make.

Thanks! Build Thread Post 4 (Turn phone sideways and tap my "Lighting" thread - makes sense!, or tap my "Index" thread then Post 4.

Note, I built it from a Curt front receiver, I ground off the rigging loops and welded up the 2" receivers.
I also cinch them with a tie wrap when not in use to avoid the rattle when driving. They make a perfect first point of contact, and of course useful for offset rigging and, as Op wants, look good too, especially with a recent coat of paint.

Kroil is one the best penetrating oils I've ever used. and as weird as this is going to sound, I love the smell of it lol. We dont get any rust in the south but it does wonders for seized bolts on old equipment. I work on alot of old stuff so it comes in handy. I hope you get some good use out of it!
