Took a drive to San Diego CA yesterday with a couple buddies to tour the USS Midway. Had a great time and saw lots of aircraft and talked to many of the volunteers who act as tour guides. Many/most have served on ships or are retired naval aviators. Just a wealth of history!! One gentleman was on a destroyer escort at Normandy! Walking around and seeing the tight quarters, bunks and machinery was very humbling. Just a couple pics:

It was well worth it. Next on the list is the USS Iowa in Los Angeles harbor.

    Working all weekend.

You're too nice. Once they get to the monkey catagory in my book, they get a much worse tag.

The Midway is a good tour. When we lived over there we went a couple time.

Move. We don't have hurricanes and the old people in shorts, socks and sandles are only here for winter.

While the idea sounds nice, only other states would be back to NH  or Utah :santa: when the daughter comes back stateside and then only part time......

After 40+ years of New England winters; aka-Nor'easters o_O a little Hurricane might dampen my day BUT I can keep rebuilding till the "dust blows" me away....:hattip:
