A friend in Helotes makes these on his spare time. He makes them based off the Gobi racks. They're cheaper, and turn around time is about 3 weeks from ordering from him. He is starting to make sliders and ladders as well.

Right now he is making them for 5th gen 4runners only. I'll let you guys know once he starts branching out, but he does this on his spare time after work and on the weekends.

A little something every chance we get.
Well, I'm a roof failure. And I have been banned from the ladder! I took me so long to go up and down, and I look dangerous doing it. Combination of I'm not as limber and this ridiculously increasing fear of height. Anyway, I wan't the only problem.
The roofers actually finished off the old drop off from the main roof to the sun room roof, and that's what I was going to use the flashing for. But we saw all fiberglass tape we used to tape the seams between the panels was visible and rotted, and the leaks were in the seams. So.... about 50' too short to do everything. So we did about half, and Mikkel will go at it Monday AM, on his next day off.
I even bought one of those stabilizing bars for the ladder that also give you a stand off - didn't help me. Think I figured out I have to mount it lower, so that it extends further up to give something more to hang on to. But, as it stands, I am ladder banned!
:anonymous: And a sore son of a bag too!

Thanks Danny. The work isn't that hard, it's the up and down. Son doesn't like heights either, but we'll get it out of the way Monday. Then, we figured out today, we only need to do it again the next time Tool releases a new album.

Not kidding. The last time we did it, was the last time they had a new album! Probably the time before as well!

@05prerun82 - Brandon, if you just want economy and comfort for the medical runs, take care of the Prius you got. You would never find any 4 banger pickup that gets HALF of what you are used to in mileage. 22 vs. 50+? No contest, and since you buy the gas, why buy more and have less for the truck(s) you want?

Hey Guys. Please excuse the intrusion into your forum. But, I noticed that you guys are pretty active around here. So, just wondering if you can help a fellow TW member out?

I'll be visiting your city last week in September for a mini vacation (5 days / 4 nights, coming from central Arkansas). Wife and I will be staying at the Holiday Inn River Walk. Looking for recommendations for food, shopping and activities around the city. I will not be in the Taco though. We will be driving the Rav4 (FWD) to save a little on fuel. I have been doing lots of research, But everything is starting to run together. Here is what I've looked at so far. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Shopping - River Walk, San Marcos Premium Outlets, Market Square.

Sight Seeing - River Walk (certainly), The Alamo, The Pearl?
    - Here is where I really would like some input. Anything really to see at The Pearl? Is it worth driving out to The Hill Country (FWD)?
Also planning a day trip to Corpus Christy. We haven't had a beach vacation in many years. And I would really like to walk along the surf again. So any recommendations would be appreciated. Probably not looking to drive on the sand with a FWD vehicle? What beach would you suggest?

Entertainment - Considering the New Braunfels Bead and Jewelry Show (9/27 - 9/29). Cannon Fest (9/28). Fall Fest (9/28). Tower of Americas free concert (9/27). Friday Night Tuner Car Show? Would love to see Tesla or Iron Maiden. But concert tickets are just too expensive anymore.

Food - I've got so many places on my list that I'm just getting confused. Looking for nice dinner for 1 or 2 nights. Then, indulge on junk food and local favorites the rest of the time. Please suggest some of your favorites.

Thank You for any replies. Sorry for the intrusion.

San Antonio natives will say to skip the Alamo or just drive past it, but i think it's cool. I haven't don't the rivet walk, yet. I'll remedy that eventually. San Marcos is cool, new Braunfels is cool. There's some cool water parks, river floats, sea world and other attractions that are pretty good, too.
