Pics of a AVIC-X920BT installed?

Considering getting the avic-x920bt. Does anyone have pics of installed? Wondering if the screen tilt is going to be an issue.

 

I had the 910 installed for about a week. Screen angle was just fine.

I hated that unit with a passion though because it took over a minute to startup and play music. I hear the 920 is better in that respect though. I'm really happy with my Eclipse AVN726e though. Here's a quick review on it that I did.

How did you get your dash kit to fit so well in the spot? Mine bulges out in the middle exposing a gap. It was also a PITA to get the blasted thing to stay in there, there's so much debris behind there and so little space.

To the OP, I have one installed, I may run out and get a pic in a few.

 

You have to cut the black trim piece that goes around the unit to a particular size. I taped mine to a thin board and then ran it through the table saw. Total overkill but a clean cut was desired so that's what I did.

PS: I didn't realize they did away with the volume knob on the 920.

 

So the black trim piece is keeping it from fully sitting in the hole?

 

assuming the DVD by-pas has been done. can u watch DVD and navigate at the same time?. also does it come with USB, SD connections?

 

Yes, your passengers can watch a movie while you navigate at the same time (since watching a movie while driving is stupid dangerous).

I retained the stock metal mounting brackets instead of the scosche plastic ones that come with that dash kit, they just seemed too flimsy. My trim ring will not move back far enough to snap in place, but looks fine.

The dash kit itself will snap in place if you transferred the yellow snaps. As for the HU trim, mine's pretty much just sitting in there.

 

Yes it is. Its a dead-on color match. Unfortunately its a dead-on color match for the buttons - most of which are now gone. As such, it matches the hazard button well, and is a bit greyer that the air vent trim.

 

Yeah I did transfer the yellow snaps, but I think because of the amount of crap behind the HU (wires, etc) that that is causing it to bow out in the middle. It took us several tries of pushing with all our might to get the thing in where it would stay.

 

Yes, switching to nav doesn't stop the AV source from playing (no matter which source).

It comes with a cable for USB and micro headphone jack, and has a microSD slot on the front

 

Did anyone add any additional security to protect your upgraded headunit? Not sure what type of security the 920bt comes with and would hate to lose out on my investment.
