Increasing the tile spacing even slightly will fill that 1 inch gap really quickly and easily without having to worry about skinny fillers, even a 1/2 end gap will get hidden by trim, youd only need to add like 1/16-1/8" of spacing x 5 grout lines and you're covered

Anyone have experience with the ring floodlight camera?

I have a really unique issue with the one I’ve had hard wired for over a year. This just started a month ago and I have been on the phone with ring to no avail leading me to believe the actual light is broken.

So the light works perfectly in the day, but at night, the light cycles on every 10 or fifteen seconds and doesn’t report motion. I’ve shut the internet connection off and it still cycles on and off. I’ve reset the device, cycles the breaker... everything. On the app itself I’ve eliminated all motion zones and put sensitivity down to the lowest level... no dice. I’ve cleaned the lense, got rid of Cobb webs, pointed it away from anything that could move in the wind... no dice.

Soooo, ring just sent me a new one for 50 percent off and waiting for this evening to see if it presents the same issue.

My question is, the old one was $250 and is essentially worthless. However, I’m wondering if I can just cap off the wires to the lights and just use it as a camera as I have wiring on a different part of the exterior of the house where I can use it as a security camera. I’ve searched forums all over the internet, and nobody has tried this. I’m almost certain that camera is identical to the camera only product they sell.

Any thoughts from those here with ring experience who are electrically inclined?

    TIA

Are sheds this size all that useful? I am needing to free up some wall space in the garage and want to build one of these up next to (maybe connected to) my fence for an out of sight out of mind appearance. Mostly for things like rakes shovels etc. Thinking 6-8' wide by 3'-4' deep.

Thats about the size I built for my wife for all her chicken stuff, got all her chicken stuff out of my shed and garage so I would say it holds plenty.

Id rather have a 50x60 metal building with a/c.... but space constraints and preferences of the boss require me to be creative.

I know, stupid question lol. Just dont want to put all my stuff in there and not be able to get it out when I need it.

Beauty! The front entry door is such a focal point of a house. Putting something that stands out and is a classic design like that will definitely make people say 'Wow' when they come by for years to come.

Are you finding more homes are going away from peepholes on front doors now with things like doorbell cameras becoming more common place? The sidelite obvious helps for visibility as well.

I've never installed a door with a peephole in the 20 years I've had my own company

What’s the tongue length? The T&G I just put up had a 3/8” tongue with 1/4” in the groove, leaving an 1/8” gap. The east wall has shrunk almost 3/16” between boards, leaving just a 1/16” in the groove. Wondering if I need to redo it with a 1/2” tongue, with 3/8” in the groove. The rest of the walls have either not shrunk or have only done so by a 1/16”. We have had 30 plus sunny days of 100 plus degrees with no rain. The building is oriented due north to maximize the solar panels, not ideal for the cedar on the east wall. In hindsight lap siding may have been the better option.

This material is flush face so the t&g are milled to have the boards come together tight on the face

That's just a shitty mill job. When I've encountered that on projects I always return the material if possible. If not possible due to time constraints I'll dado out the groove. I live in a low humidity area and cedar will gap out with even the best material and installs in time. The sunnier it's exposure the faster it dries.
