Sorry to get back to you so late. I bought the cushion straight from Toyota for $250

Identical or close-enough cushions can be found online for cheaper, but I was in a bit of a time crunch and couldn't wait for shipping (the back pain caused by the seat made driving impossible).

 

Por-15 the frame, OME leaf pack minus an overload and a mid leaf, adjusted the 5100s, and a "clearance test"

 

Washed it since I went camping the other day.

Really digging my Husky all weather mats; they really keep all the dirt and grime in.

What's the next best lower ball joint? OEM only last a year and if can save some pennies on some others that'd be great. I check them often so I'm not worried about any surprises.

 

Only other brand I read about that gets argued in favor of are the 555 branded LBJs

My last pair of OEM ones lasted about 2 years/55k miles

 

Only a year out of oem ball joints?

 

Mine had up down play after around 50k miles, replaced at 55k. Might have lasted another 50k but I didn't want to chance it. Random popping noises went away after I did those and the tie rods, not sure which exactly was the culprit.

 

Hmm. The 05-06 tundras had larger ball joints. I wonder how hard it’d be to make them fit the Tacoma lower control arms. other Than that uniballs are all I can think of for an upgrade to the ball joints

 

Thought I remembered reading that Solo was making OEM style LCAs with uniball ball joints but maybe I'm just imagining things...probably crazy expensive anyway.

Is anyone working in any supplemental grease into the ball and socket before installation?

 

Yep. I'm pretty sure not airing down and going fast over small rocky terrain is how I kill them so quickly. If I would have been on top of this one I likely could have had it warrantied. This is the 3rd one that's lasted less than a summer season.

My steering rack guide bushing needed to be tightened after only 13k. I had noticeable play in the guide.

I'm not kind to this truck and it shows. Basically treating it like a race truck and after every trip I give it a good inspection of the steering and suspension components.
