Drive one and it all makes sense. They drive and feel terrible. Just for kicks I test drove a gladiator then a ranger. The gladiator was quite nice just lots of $$$. The ranger rode horrible. Much worse than my taco or the solid axel gladiator. It also had noticable turbo lag and fealt cheap. Even though the truck had 10 miles on it, the interior was already rattling and the steering wheel was scraping on the trim when I turned it.

Long story short. The new gladiator was really nice and had it existed when I bought my taco I would have seriously considered it. I have zero interest in ever looking at a ranger again.

    Fresh gas.

Yeah, I was looking at dropping $6000 on superchargers (if OVTune ever gets there) or twin turbos, or diesel conversions, or V8 conversions....

OR I can trade my Taco in on a Titan... which i'm doing in two days. I'm sad about it, as I waited 6 months for them to build an Offroad Access Cab 6MT for me, but after two years, i've realized that i've outgrown the Tacoma.

Looking forward to 390hp though and not hating life when I pull my camper!

The big issue I have with the ZR2 (never test drove, never really researched - just from driving past them repeatedly) is that the bedsides are way too damn high. I want a truck where I can easily reach over the bedside and grab something out of the bed, and the Colorado just don't fit that bill.

I was behind a Colorado in traffic a few weeks ago, could not get over how high it was in the ass end, seemed like that top of the tailgate was even with my sunvisors.

Seems to be a trend with all of the American trucks. I can only guess its gas milage related or they want to have more space with a tonneau cover.

I agree. I had a ‘16 Frontier and the interior fit and finish was poor. The texture on the steering wheel started wearing off at 25k miles

They were like that back 20 years ago. But then put all kinds of money and priority into a high revving race car like engine.

Ahh yeah I mine did that too. I wrapped it in Paracord and forgot about it. And my seat is worn pretty bad where my butt slides in.

Materials are definitely not up to Toyota standards. My taco interior is in better shape, with an extra 7 years and 50k miles.

Family had a '94 pathfinder bought new. In 7 years we owned it most of the plastic interior and latches were falling apart.

I think it varies within a company over the years, too. My sister had an 02 Xterra that spent most of it's life bouncing around the gloriously shitty roads of new Orleans, and it held up really well.

I'm the same vein, my mom swears up and down that the leather in her 99 Lexus was better than her 2010.

Then there is the cracking dashes in the bailout era GM vehicles.

Mid 90s broncos are pretty sweet, hope the news ones live up. The new ranger falls into the Colorado category if you ask me. It's there but I don't have any desire to own it. I actually like the old rangers as well.

    Fresh gas.
Looks like a great time, just need to attach wheels and find a fuel station serving methanol!

I miss the '96 Pathfinder my dad traded for my current Tacoma...

The interior held up really well, and in the more than 13 years we owned it, the A/C had to be recharged once in 2003 and the exhaust had to be replaced in 2007. I also believe my dad had some suspension components replaced in 2006-2007. It had 113K miles on it when we traded it for the Tacoma in September 2009, and it had some dents and dings, and minor rust, but it ran great. My dad got $2,300 for it on a trade (he got them up from $1,500 after almost walking). The Toyota dealership where we bought it FINANCED it to somebody a week later for God knows how much (I'm guessing $5,000-$6,000). Eight months later, it was repossessed.

By the way, I don't know the details of the repossession and only know it was repossessed because my dad found the original window sticker and I typed the VIN into Carfax in 2016. On the Carfax report, it says it was repossessed in May 2010 and the trail goes cold after that, with the exception of a manufacturer recall in 2011. There's literally nothing. Carfax reports show if a vehicle has been totaled and/or junked. If this Carfax is to be believed, then my Pathfinder has been rotting in an impound lot for almost a decade!

Hmm. Dunno. Mine had four different tires on it when I got it, which was terrible. Then it had used bfg a/ts from my old Blazer, which was slightly better. Then I put new Michelin ltx m/s on it and it was like a whole new truck.

For the record, my frame is also not jiggly.
