This place is quiet lately. The shenanigans element has taken a nose dive.

Well I got back last night from the Shaver lake area helping to map out trails for the Overland Bound Rally coming up in September. I mapped Strawberry Lake Trail, wow it kicked my butt. Rock climb after rock climb. My little tires need to be upgraded, and I need more armor. Snapped my rear bumper cap this past weekend too. Looks like more mods for me. My poor diff.

I could HAPPILY spend a long weekend at Strawberry Lake

More kitchen drawer testing, holding up great so far

Parking can be an issue, the earlier you get there the better. You can park once and take the free shuttle bus everywhere else in the valley, but if you want to go up to glacier point you'll have to drive, hike or take the YART bus which I believe you have to pay for. Taft point and Sentinal dome trailheads share a parking lot on the way up to Glacier Point and both are short hikes with big views. The Mist trail can get crowded but is also worth it if you've never been there. It's almost all uphill on the way in, but the top of Vernal and Navada falls is well worth it. If you looking for the super luxe topping go grab drinks at the Ahwahnee, or beers at curry village late in the day. Don't leave food or anything smelly in your car, don't get too close to wild animals and don't ever feed them. Also, be careful out there, It isn't Disneyland and there are a ton of places you can just fall to your death (someone finds a new one every year) if you're not paying attention.

Also if you've got time don't sleep on Tuolumne Meadows (probably can't do the valley and TM in a day). It isn't quite as grand as the valley, but it's one of my favorite places and will have far less people. There's a lake there with a beach and a couple pretty decent hikes that are much more flat than hiking out of the valley. There is a carbonated spring (we used to bring drink mix when we were kids and make carbonated koolaid or whatever) and a cool short hike up to the top of Lembert Dome really close together (also there is a lake not too far off the trail). Gaylor Lakes is another relatively easy hike, but is at damn near 10k ft elevation, and there is an old abandoned mine at the end of the trail and park boundary.

Man I could go on and on, if you have any specific questions let me know.

Not to be a stranger around these parts I'll chime in :)

I actually took Ricky Jr. to Yosemite two weeks ago with friends from outside the 209. I would avoid the valley floor on the weekends like the plague if you can. Couple hours of just stand still traffic to go around the loop. Check out a hiking trail above that Cameron mentions and you will be golden.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

RICKY!!! We we're just talking about you the other day (John, Cameron, Morgan and I) when we were working on some stuff.

    We miss ya brother.

But we all agreed, with the homesteadin, and work, and the little guy, etc... we get why you go MIA from time to time. Glad to know everythingbis well with you and yours.

Thanks Matt! Yeah it's been a while. Everyone's rigs are looking beefy and built up. Great to see all the progress (or struggles lol). I still need to find time to take my rear springs apart and grease every inch. Maybe I'll find the time and will to do it once the heat of the summer comes to an end.

Also been busy repairing the mice damage in my wife's two domestics (92 RS Camaro and a 94 F250) that I keep up here in the woods. Learned quite a bit about vacuum systems and soldering wires back together lol.

After my last trail I definitely need to up to 33’s which means I need a cab mount chop. Any recommendations on the kit and a welder? Anyone do the exhaust reroute for skids? Costs? Shops?

I had a shop here in Sac do the reroute. I think it was $120. I think that's about average.

@Sharkfrog has had the re-route done

@Pella was happy with how his CMC came out

Not sure on the details of either but I'm sure they'll chime in.
