TT worked well for me of Course we bought 4 Cars from them before always dealing with the same Sales Person for years in and out in 1.5 hours including prep time for the Truck. Can,t complain at all. Anything that got Scottsdale Camelback and Miller written on there signs keep on driving. BTW if you ever look for a horrible Sales Story give Mercedes of Scottsdale a go.:eek::thumbsup: Honestly I am tired of dealing with Dealers so my next purchase will be done by Costco.

Purchased a used 2017 sport bbp paint. Before signing any papers I noticed some paint issues on the bed that looked like the clear coat was bad. Salesman said "someone probably spilled something on it" and was NICE enough to offer to get it fixed for me for $500. I passed then found out about the clear coat issues with bbp and ended up getting both bedsides and the hood painted under warranty. I'm SURE that SOB knew of the issues and it would have been covered by warranty, but he was trying to get me for $500. I'm sure he would have had it fixed under warranty and pocketed the $.

I could go on for an hour but I’ll summarize the purchase of my wife’s 2016 4Runner SR5

Went in for their advertised too good to be true deal.
    1. Kept trying to move us to a Highlander.
    2. They tried to keep us from spotting the 4R on the lot but it was the only one that had exactly what we wanted.
    3. Offered $3k for Corolla trade. I told them $5500 min. Back and forth 3 times they held at $3k, I took the trade off the table then they offer $3500 after telling me $3k was the best. Liars. We put >25% cash down, clearly surprising the woman who thought we HAD to trade. Sold the corolla myself in 4 days for $7500.
    4. Offered my wife a 7.x% rate w 800+ credit score. I told them they needed to beat 2.5% or I’d get my own financing on my phone in 10min. They ran multiple banks but tried telling us we really wanted to finance with Toyota regardless of rate. Told me I had to co-sign to get rate down, I refused and said we’d get our own financing. All of the sudden they were able to do 2.34% via Toyota. Liars.
    5. They refused to show me the deal sheet and kept doing funny math based on a payment. I had to get a little nasty with the woman to get her to realize I was going to walk if she kept treating me like an idiot who didn’t understand how to use a bankrate.com auto loan calculator. They finally showed me the sheet and I saw where they were trying to add an extra $2200.
    6. I witnessed an older Hispanic couple and a single woman BOTH get taken advantage of during their deals with the same funny-math payment BS they tried with me. Too much to type but it was almost painful to watch. So shady, complete lack of integrity!
It was the worst dealership experience but we got the vehicle exactly the way we wanted.

    Take 2:
Fast fwd 2yr and against my better judgment I gave them a shot at selling me a 2018 Taco when I was shopping all area dealers.
    1. They refused to give me any price via email, said to call. I called and they refused to give me a number over the phone, said I had to come in. I refused because no one in the entire region had the truck I wanted. There was no point and I explained this.
    2. I ended up leaving a negative review on their fb and Google. Got a call from the GM who was new to this location, supposedly was brought in as a “fixer” and clearly knew of the exact issues I described from both interactions.

Lexus of Louisville- I wanted a IS 250 in red. The only one at the dealership was on the showroom floor. They scraped most of the paint off the rear quarter panel pulling it out the door.

Gossett Mazda of Memphis- There was a rebate and no special finance rates on the RX8 I was looking at. I let them run my credit to see what rate Mazda would give me. I wasn't worried as I knew I had tier one credit. They came back with a ridiculous finance rate. My wife and I decide to leave. The salesman says give him a minute and he'll see what the sales manager can do. He comes back five minutes later with a finance rate that is two percentage points lower. My wife tells the salesman that my credit score didn't change in those five minutes. We left.

Interesting one, but not a dealership, or salesman...
Toyota Financial- I made my last payment on my 2014 Tacoma and called TFS to ensure the last auto payment had fulfilled the loan. I was told the loan had been paid in full and I would receive the title in the mail in ten business days. I call back after a month to check. TFS says they mailed it out. I confirmed the address with them. I'm told it was sent to my lien holder, NFCU. I explain that I didn't finance it through them. Then I'm told that maybe I refinanced it and NFCU bought the loan. I said sure. I refinanced it. Please send me a check for all the money I have had deducted for years by TFS. She didn't like that. Then she tells me there was nothing she could do for me and to contact NFCU. I said to check and you'll see that the vehicle was financed through TFS and every payment shows on my TFS app. I'm again reminded that there is nothing they can do for me. I hung up and called NFCU, which transfers me to the title department. The guy finds my auto title and overnights it-no cost to me.

Salesman tried telling me I didn’t need a long bed and that they’re much more complicated to drive and I would regret not buying the short bed he offered me. Only thing that was regretted was him losing my sale to another dealer.

I’m getting tired of Gresham toyota.

Service department over charges and under delivers. Caught them not doing things in their X mile service and had to take time out of my day to take it back to them.

When I bought my used 07 OR the head light was cracked and I asked them to either fix it or take the cost off the price and they said they couldn’t take the $800+ off the price because “I was already getting a good deal.”

After one of my free oil changes I asked the service manager how much it was to replace the headlight and he said under $400. I won’t take my car or truck back to them nor will I buy my next one from them.

Toyota of Natchez. Went there at the end of May this year to look at some tacomas and test drive a few because I had my mind made up that it was the truck I wanted. I called and they said they had some kind of end of the month sale and gave me a good sales pitch about how they'd give me a great deal just to move inventory. Sounded really good right? So I got there and at the time I didn't mind what color I got, as long as it was a DCSB off road AT with premium and tech packages, I explain this and they said they had what I was looking for... when I get there they only have base model ORs on the lot, and said they had made a mistake. Ok, I just figure I'll get a better deal. They look at my pay stubs and you can see them start to drool. They said 40k (before ttl) was the lowest they can go because the truck had an msrp of 43k. I laughed at them, told them they were full of shit, and walked out of the door while the guy is literally chasing me down in my truck. I'll drive 12 hrs to get a good deal before they get my business

Brother when i save up a down payment i want an MT next year. My dealer only ever has AT's granted they only ever have like 5-10 on the lot at a time because i don't live in a hugely populated area and people just want AT's.

    It's complicated.
    Exactly THIS!

If you're in there shopping by the monthly payment, you should not be buying a vehicle!

The exact truck I wanted was at another dealership in town. Salesman looked it up online and promised me multiple times when I asked that it had the tow package. They had it brought in and I picked it up 2 days later. Dealership and I were all in a rush and I forgot to visually check for a tow hitch. I noticed a few days later and called them and they said they were certain it had the tow package because it was standard on all Tacomas (which turns out is not true for '16-17s) and that I just needed to put a receiver and hitch on but that it had everything else. Long story short, that was all a bunch of BS. Had to fight with them at various levels of management, HR, etc. and finally 2 months and 2,000+ miles later they unwound the purchase, took back the truck and did a new purchase deal on an identical truck with with the tow package.

Toyota Carlsbad. Made up my mind on a Pro. Called the dealership and asked about availability. They said no problem, but there is a waitlist and you just put 500 down and get in line (said there was 11 people in line already) A couple weeks go buy and I go there to put a deposit down and I’m told they won’t take my deposit. Sitting in the parking lot is 3 Pro’s that they have added wheels and tires and about 10 grand to the price. A few weeks go by and I’m at the service area and a guy tries to sell me on a pro sitting in the lot and I say I already tried, but you guys wouldn’t take my money and I want the stock wheels. He talks to the manager and we go for a test drive and they want to know what it will take for me to buy the truck. I say put he stock wheels and tires back on. They wouldn’t (because then it would be hard to justify that 10 grand of “hidden” profit) but they came down on the price to something like 6 grand over sticker which was the absolute best deal they have ever offered on a pro and all that bullshit. Obviously I walked, then called enough dealers until I found one in San Diego who didn’t play all the pricing games. I’ll never buy anything from there in the future, but so far the service department has been pretty good.

Yep. Big Two sales guys were the best to work with. Felt the least douchey, if you can imagine that. Now their service dept... nope. Never again. Took Taco in for the weeping rear diff recall, clowns wiped it clean and said no leaking. Pulled out my phone and showed the pics I took the night before and they basically called me a liar. I drive to Earnhardt’s or Riverview now.

This happened about 25 years ago at a dealer that no longer exists.

I went to look at an older Toyota 4x4 they had. The sales guy let me take it for a solo test drive but he somehow forgot to put dealer plates on the truck before I left. I took it to my dad’s house to show him and on my way back to the dealer, the highway patrol pulled me over. After explaining the situation to the trooper, he called the dealer. After a long discussion with the dealer, he comes back with my license and says (orders) me to go straight back to the dealership. No more test driving. I think he thought I had stolen the truck.

Needless to say, I didn’t buy the truck.

AutoNation Toyota Irvine,CA! Stay far away! These guys are crooks! If it wasn't for the exact truck I was looking for, I would've walked. The dealership listing was changed to "as is" when i went in. The " warranty" that was listed never happened. Also never received my registration, had to call the dmv to handle it myself. Lesson learned.

Interesting... Earnhardt gave me nothing but trouble with service.popcorn is good though.

also, small edit - bought the truck at earnhardt - am working with big two for a 2020, and have my maintenance done there.

I like to show up at the dealership 5 minutes before they close. What do you mean there's no coffee?
