I removed the overhead console and removed them from the back side.

Some have used tape on the stock bulbs and pulled them out. But removing the console was a lot easier.

    Thanks!
I pulled the panel and had it done in 5 minutes after spending 30 min trying to pull the bulbs out. Haha.

I was looking right at em when I turned them on the first time. Damn they are bright. My eyes hurt.

No problem man. I tried to do it the hard way the first time too. Lol.

Yeah Meso doesn’t play around with the light output.

Glad I could help out .

I think my red dome lights are a lemon.
The spring loaded piece is slight too large, and will not properly fit into the original bulbs location.
When compared to my white dome, the red dome's piece cannot compress as much.

Even when I force the piece to fit, it does not work.
Switching back to the white dome, everything works.

I just got a white dome light and that’s how it is. I was able to get it in but it doesn’t sit in there all the way. That spring piece is a little to large. I almost broke it putting it in.

My dome light spring did not fit either in my 2019 OR. I took a razor blade and had to gradually and carefully shave it down so that there was less material on both sides of the white plastic. Took me forever but finally got it to fit.

    I love the lights!!!!

Maybe I'm mistaken, but aren't you meant to compress it a bit when putting it in? Not like, push it into the slot and have it compress as you go, but actually compress it then put it into the slot, then let it re-expand?

Problem is, since it slightly too large, even when you compress it, it will not even slide into place.
Then when you jam it into place, it becomes stuck, cause it cannot compress anymore to give it space to slide out.

Note this it only for my red dome lights.
My white dome lights have the smaller spring loaded connector.

Lastly, even if I hold the Red dome in place, it does not light up.

Finally caved and ordered my maps. Can’t wait to get them to go with my dome light.

@MESO saw in the 2nd gen post there are some that are red and white for the dome light. Is that option making its way to the 3rd gen?
