As posted a couple of days ago. My jalapeños and serranos are getting ripe. I smoke them and grind them up ($2 goodwill coffee grinder I use for spices) and use them on almost everything.

 

I cut one of the peppers up (jalapeños ) tasted it and no heat they sure look like jalapeños. IDK ,I’m leaving them on the plant for a bit longer . I will use them in chili I will post more pics tomorrow!​

Found my first one of the year last night...
Randomly, I found him climbing my pant leg after walking through the back yard, rather than in the garden.

Yep.
I usually water mine regularly until they've got a lot of good-sized fruit set on, then I start letting the soil dry out until the plants start wilting before they get any more water.

not always the case...some plants are just plain hotter than others. Last year we had one plant was super hot jalapeno the other was barely even spicy. both watered the same amount and within feet of each other.

 

Can anyone explain this? It’s on a yucca plant.

it was 15$ for me, which honestly is normal rate for a one pound bottle. but i agree shipping is nuts and i still have 1970's values myself. i used to buy this stuff at whole foods in ATX in the chiller. so maybe look there if you got one local.

 

I'll revisit the site and see if/where they distribute. The nearest Whole Foods is 3-4 hours away.
