Jl audio sensitivity is 82db @ 1watt @1 meter and boss audio is 91db @ 1 watt @ 1 meter so how does doubling power have anything to do with how subs need "doubled *linear* power when exponentially different! That's like trying to say your muscles double in size if you work out double. These are all variable differences and having a opinion isnt worth even mentioning. 9db difference with 1 watt equal power. Higher volumes are not rated because the differences are just to great to try and record and document. Seriously, kickers res freq is 40hz and cerwin vega was 34hz and produced in my original set up better low end excursion "more bass" and the kicker at 40hz obviously played music in that range better. Both with about 86 sensitivity witch is related to db or *volume that also has to do with resistance! Specific sub design for specific application

My favorite sub was the the cerwin vega resonant frequency of 34 htz and simple 2 or 1.9 ohm and 86db 1w1m seems to have better sound while improving the *volume or db of the rest of the speakers

Infinity flex 8d looks okay to with the freq at 40htz and sensitivity at 84db but the ohm looks the lowest I've seen yet. At 1.89 and 3.87 in the 4 ohm version that would be a better candidate wired down to 2 ohm. But freq. At 40 playes better rock music. Or highs. All of this homework is tiring.

Cdt audio I have not tried yet but it's not rocket science.

Found a calculator in the app store to help people figure out how specific resistance translates to power. 43.4 to 55.5 is a dramatic increase in output!!!

Your amp only provides so much power regardless of speaker ohms and can be damaged by going too low.

Very true statement. But we are talking about the same 2 ohm speakers, just variables in quality control of the actual 2 ohm measurment.jbl stock is 2.3 and aftermarket is variable 1.8 to 2.3 depending on brand and speaker. This affects output. This is not a topic about wiring down to 1 ohm. Simple speaker decisions

Similar to the CV spec wise, but shallower mounting.

Efficency was the main objective. But efficency is not top priority for sub manufacturers. If you want efficent you could just throw 100db efficent loudspeaker in there. Frequency + efficency

We are working backwards reverse engineering if that makes sence. Usually you pick a sub then pick a amp. Our amp is fixed so we have to choose the most efficent sub. But when doing so thr frequency goes up! You loose bottom end bass. This is where ohms comes in to save the day and a speaker with less than 2 but greater then 1.5 actual measurement witch is not always listed helps the decision to keep frequency low and efficency as high as possible

I tried not to albert einstein with math basically making it easier for someone to understand for someone not familiar like myself with audio as most people. So albert einstein away and explain the difference in speaker resistance. And why 2 of the same vehicles coming out of the same plant have vastly different sound output

Pretty sure this whole part was about sensitivity

The pioneer comp c* is a good sub because it is more sensitive and not power hungry. Dual 4 ohm wired down to 2 ohm is the way my truck is right now. I have 2 scar audio subs in the mail I'm going to test if it's better to wire two 2 ohm subs with all 4 wires or two 4 ohm wires paralleled down to 2 ohms using only 2 wires the green and red coming from the amp. You want to avoid subs that have high watt capacity that means their rms is high and out little amp cant let the speaker have enough power
