That's like when I worked at O'Reilly's these old people came in with a 2019 Silverado and they were pissed off cuz the truck was 3 months old and had 670 something miles and the battery was bad already and the warranty didn't cover the battery

WOW.. They really came out with those. Nissan makes engines for MB in the Decherd TN plant.

For even more, you can bolt the entire front suspension from a 2004 or newer Titan to a 2005 or newer Frontier.

The swap requires everything though... control arms, steering knuckles, hubs, rotors, calipers, the works.

I see their KBB.com Consumer Reviews scores the Ranger Overall 4.8 Out of 5.

However, I see at the bottom of the ratings is a comment: "Based on 6 consumer ratings for 2019 models." But wait, there's only 3 comments?...where's the other 3? Oh, let me guess, they weren't exactly, ahem...shall we say, "glowing reviews" perhaps?

I find it interesting that of the 3 reviews that are posted, 2 of them specifically reference the Tacoma. Just a coincidence?...you be the judge.

    :)

The Frontier would be my second choice after the Tacoma. It’s kind of old, but it’s reliable and cheap. They look good, too.

My first choice was a Tacoma but the dealership wouldn't budge on price. So I drove across the street to Nissan and they removed $6k off the truck and I got mine for $24k out the door.

Consumer Reports (Compact Pickup trucks), rates the Ranger #2 after the Ridgeline #1.

Ford is fulfilling their own prophesy with this New Ranger. They discontinued the last Ranger, because it cost almost as much to produce a Ranger as an F150, with a much lower sticker price, so much less profit for Ford and the dealers. They figured at the time every Ranger they sold stole a F150 sale from the dealers, as many guys are brand-loyal, hurting the Ford business as a whole.

So now it’s 2019, and they are pricing the Rangers very high, so if they sell a Ranger, they don’t lose profits in the deal, and the result is a very expensive mid-size, steering people back towards the F150 or to other brands. It seems like they would have been better not bothering with this New Ranger product and trusting the logic they previously used when they cancelled they Ranger to begin with.

I think Ranger ownership will quickly become an exclusive club. I can see Ford cancelling the Ranger again in the next year or two.

I wanted to take a look at the Ranger before I got my Tacoma, but I never did because of the only 1 engine option for the Ranger the 2.3L turbo. Really?

    Too few to list.
It's too bad Nissan didn't put 4x4 on the 4cyl base model or I would seriously consider one but like I said, a brand new truck for $17.5K is great deal.

This new ranger is a real disappointment - I was hoping for so much more. When I went to look at it, it just seemed... cheap to me.

My wife and I were on a Scandinavian tour in June and this was taken in the harbor park in Helsinki. I just turned around and saw it.

I own a Frontier Pro-4x with the 4.0L and 6spd, it's proven to be very good. I've had it five trouble free years now and still enjoy driving it.

MSRP of $53,300? That's more than the MSRP of the 2016 F150 XLT SuperCrew SB 4x4 FX4 3.5 Ecoboost that I bought new in late 2015. I got it through Military Sales so I got a pretty decent discount, but the sticker was less than what they want for that ranger. That's just stupid there's no way in hell I'd pay even that discounted price for that ranger. No wonder they aren't selling, dealers think they're made out of gold.

Agreed. It's a shame too because there is a market for good, reasonably priced mid-sized trucks. As I said before I think the high price, mediocre looks, and the lack of engine choices are what will kill it off. Disclaimer, I haven't driven one. I did own a 2016 F150 3.5 Ecoboost though and have read that most people didn't like the 2.3L Ecoboost they put in the mustang, which I think is the same or similar to what's in the Ranger. There's just no way, in it's current form, that it should be priced the same as an F150. If they can't get the cost down to make a decent profit and reduce the cost of the vehicle, then I think it's doomed. Hell, Ford doesn't even sell small cars anymore, I can't imagine they'll keep making a truck that doesn't sell.

I'm thinking about going to test drive a new Titan tomorrow. Should be the end of model year sales starting up.

Could be, I bought my 2010 used and it had a replacement windshield at 30,000 miles. That same aftermarket PGW glass is still in it to this day and is holding up well. I haven't seen anything about it on the forums though so you might have just been unlucky.

How disappointing,, I thought this thread would take off like a firestorm,, Maybe I can help,, It's an ugly truck, thats why!!! After test driving a Ranger the only thing I can honestly say I liked was the New Car Smell but even the Ridgeline could give you that!!! Trading up is the name of the game!! Who trades down for 40 or 50K???? I personally like when people stop and look at my truck and tell me how sweet my Tacoma looks. I wouldn't trade that feeling even if the Rangers price was 10k less!!!!!
