I got a mailer from the local dealer telling me that my 04 is "dangerously past due for maintenance" probably because I haven't had them do anything to it for nearly 3 years. They want to do a 75k mile service on it that is basically just a drain and fill on everything, for $600. And that's the 'coupon' price

Told the guy the motor and said it was a 5 lug so IDK if he thought it was 4wd or not sadly. They do the filter and oil and everything with the deal. I get the coupon bc it's for people who live in the area. The only thing that blows is they do "service checks" too. So they try to find shit to have me pay money for bc they're desperate. They tried getting brake fluid flush on the last change bc they said I had 4% water in my fluid and I laughed it off ; have ran it since then with no issues. Sure this time today there'll be something else they want money for, but I give em my 22 bones and run Lmao

Timing belt lol, no way. That would have driven the cost up x2 at least.

Just fluid changes and the standard 'inspection' all around.

I would double check for just a rear diff service, but 129 is no no even for me, especially now that i can rent a lift for $40 an hour here and have prior experience doing it, even though it was more than 25yrs ago, i don't think much has changed since then other than I don't have an open pit
good thing you are on TW so you know what it needs and what it doesn't!

Let me know . I'm gonna brave the heat this week . A pop up shade and the fan help a bit.

I like it. only complaints are that the bluetooth doesn't sync up with YouTubes audio, it's off by a few seconds. it works great aside from that.

For more $ you can upgrade to the model that let's you hook up a 2nd camera.

Sounds like you have the parts on hand to find out :boink:

I was always under the impression that the tundra and Tacoma suspension were the same. The tundra just needed longer axles do to the frame being wider.

Good thing I'm a 2wd, everything should cost half for me!

Who knows, they may just take care of those long worn out LCA bushings :stirthepot:

I seriously need to do something about either a headunit, or GTA Bluetooth setup...choices...

I actually got them to stop making noise by spraying them generously with silicone spray, haha. Just to get me by until I have the time and motivation to do them

So after I got back from camping (pics posted in norcal section), I was surprised that my loud as fuck leaf springs were crazy quiet.

Seems after all the flexing, tons of dirt got between the springs and quieted everything down.

After I get back from camping, I empty the bulky items at my storage in town, and go to clean the inside of the truck. Well, for some reason, I decided to actually wash my truck :frusty:

Looks good but it's squeaky as hell when I came in to work today.

On my next days off, I'll have to lift the truck up and let the suspension sag so I can pressure wash between each leaf and grease it all up.

Just be careful with grease on the leaf springs, dirt will stick to it like crazy and make them 10x louder after your next trail. I think just hosing them off is a good idea, I would be hesitant to spray them with anything other than maybe a dry lubricant/PTFE spray
