Why does it require you to push the on button? Why is that necessary?

    I've wondered that as well.
The only thing I can think of is that people may put wallets or id badges, etc in this space, and you can turn of the Qi so the magnetic field does not interfere with the magnetic strips on credit cards and badges.
I don't know if it will, but that is the only reason I have come up with so far.

Hmm, good to see that power is a moving target. Anyone had luck with it powering an Apple Watch? Now that's innovation!

My Samsung S6 Active charges just fine, as does my g/f's iPhone X. Odds are you have it in the wrong place, probably too far back. Rear and to the right is where you want it.

I have a XS Max and it doesnt work on the taco charger. I have a qi pad in the house and it works fine with my case. I think the phone needs to be as close to the front as possible, but due to the size of the Max, it doesnt work.

It works on my Xs. In my opinion wireless charging is a bust in general. It charges slow and unless you have a Bluetooth/wireless robust system it’s almost not worth it. I happen to use an Apple Watch so it’s somewhat worth it but I’m not going to go out of my way to buy a wireless charging mat for home use.

I have had no issues with mine. Sometimes takes a second to start charging though.

The Qi Charger is pretty useless. Super slow charging, but in the case of no charging cable, it’s something...

I also didn’t like that tiny little light reflecting off of my screen...

Sooooo... I opted for a DMM and a Pitaka Magnetic Wireless Charger...

Yep. The phone has to be placed right here for my truck as well. You can hardly move it out if this spot.

My problem is that the phone slides around while driving. Is there a very thin silicone pad or strips I can put on the Qi pad?

Sound like money to be made, if someone invents it.

Yes mine is doing that right now. I’m planning to take it in on my next service.

I have never liked wirelessly charging. It is slow and I don’t like the heat it generates.

Here's what the repair manual says:

    What it means:
    • High charging area temperature *2
    • Wire harness disconnection between certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) and mobile wireless charger cradle assembly
    • Charging error

*2: If foreign matter is present between the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly and a compatible rechargeable device, such as a cellular phone, charging efficiency is lowered and the foreign matter may heat up. If the mobile wireless charger cradle assembly detects heat from the foreign matter, the indicator lights will blink.

    To test:
    • If the temperature around the charging area is high, wait until it cools down
    • Check that the device being used is a Qi compliant rechargeable device
    • Check if wireless charging is possible using another Qi compliant rechargeable device

I find it fussy as to where the phone is set. Mine is happy closest to the passenger side and right at the front, closest to the shifter. Mine is an iPhone X.

Same. iPhone max, needs to have the bottom of the screen on the passenger side too. Use to think it was really fussy until I got a new work phone. work phone is a android razor phone 2 and it is a lot more picky. Just have to movie it around until orange lights up. Apple AirPods are pretty easy as they just go in center of markings

Anyone charging with a Google Pixel 3xl? Haven't tried it yet, but one of the reasons I got the phone. It's rated for 11 watts, but probably only charges at 5.
