No. I stopped hunting Missouri about 15 years ago. More public land in Illinois and it's just as close.

Recently got back into shooting my bow after 8 years.

It’s slowly coming back to me.

well I can say I shot my bow before season started...LOL I desperately need broadheads...I had some replacement blades but apparently I put them somewhere to never be found again, until I buy some more blades...Shot a few rounds @25yds. Im definitely in the killzone. My left arm/shoulder was a little shaky though so I put it up for the day.

What's everyone's arrow setup for elk? I'm shooting Easton FMJ 5mm .340s with 100 grain Muzzy Trocar broadheads. Also, do you guys think the lighted arrow nocks are worth it?

we cant legally use lighted nocks here. They are to a point but if its a pass through, it will help you find your arrow, but at that close you should know where you shot the animal.

The lighted nocks would be worth it if they weren't so god damn expensive. They weigh just enough more than a regular to slightly shift your pins, I haven't found them to be durable enough to practice regularly with, and if I can't shoot my arrows I won't even bother. I use white reflective wraps with bright orange vanes, should be visible enough. I'm running 5mm Axis 300s with Iron Will broadheads and Rage mechanicals. Which one gets used depends on the shot opportunity

Getting ready to plant buckwheat on Saturday. Got the small tractor hauled over today with the seeder, bringing the big one Saturday to disk the food plot. Then sow it and harrow the seed in lightly.

Muzzy broadheads work fine. I shot a cow elk and was a complete pass through. She went 20yds and died

Customer just came in our store, yada yada he said you know anybody who needs a youth bow? I said how much, he said make me an offer. It’s a Parker buckshot. Has a quiver, sight, whisker biscuit, 3 arrows, release, armguard, stabilizer, sling, and a case. It’s 30-40 pound draw. Our son will have to grow into it. I figured it was worth $90.

Yeah, that’s the one I’d be after if we still hunted there. They are coming in a secluded field with a large persimmon tree in the middle of it. When we hunted there I made a ground blind out of cedar trees every year and it was like shooting fish in a barrel. I’ve tried to coach my cousin to doing this but he’s young and doesn’t want to listen. He’ll learn on his own I reckon.
